Xiaomi Note 10 Pro review

Have mine for 6 months. Very nice phone in all aspects except one.
The phone overheats in hot and warm conditions.
Cannot use it for anything once it gives you the message.
When it cools down it is fine again.

How hot or warm does it have to be? Haven't experienced that yet.

It's a pity you can't find the burnt orange colour and dual sim blue versions at our retailers.

One issue to report: using Nova Launcher, I can't seem to get the notification badges to work all the time. It keeps asking me to enable notification access, which I do. But then it asks me again. Screenshot_2021-12-24-13-11-04-409_com.miui.securitycenter.jpg

It has done it twice to me now whilst driving with it in a windscreen suction holder. Hot day, sun was beating down on it, and the car was hot (aircon was on but struggling somewhat), phone was running Waze, Youtube Music and charging (2.1A port).
It does not happen often, but my other Xiaomi phones did not do it, so I assume that the battery temp sensor is a little sensitive, maybe it's a good safety feature, but a little irritating nonetheless.

Typical Xiaomi problem. Have experienced this on probably 8 out of 10 devices. (number of devices thumbsuck as I stopped keeping track of how many I have now bought)

How about the software , I find Samsung APPS to be the best
The browser , Photo app , Samsung E mail , all just seems to work seamlessly

My Samsung Note 10 is almost due for upgrade , looking @ cheaper options

I don't think I use any stock apps. Didn't with my Samsung, either. Chrome, Gmail, Truecaller for dialler and SMS etc etc

Had mine for a couple of months (from a Samsung s10). Have to say that I am quite happy with it's performance so far. For its price point comparatively, it is decent value for money.

Personally I have had this issue with a few makes (Samsung, LG amongst these).

Without me doing anything of which I'm aware, this issue has resolved itself.

I should have mentioned in the review (and will update) that I'm running Nova Launcher Prime (why would you run anything else??) and I've also turned off all the animations under developer options.

Update to this update: this notification badge is hit and miss for me. Which is quite frustrating for me as it's a feature I like.

Good deal.

Let me know when you start noticing screen burn in / ghosting, random "button" presses, and over saturated display when in bright light.

I bought two one for my wife and the other for myself.

We have not have any issues.

I do not run the always on display and won't on a OLED display. I think that is a bad idea. I am sure there will be burn in issues.

I do run it full brightness during Netflix or youtube sessions and the display is gorgeous.

It's a awesome phone and am very happy with the phone.

Edit: The phones is about 6 months old.

How long have you had it?

I've had my Note 10 Pro for 3 weeks now. Obviously not long enough for a long-term review, but here's my thoughts so far

  • The AMOLED screen is exceptionally clear and bright
  • The 120hz setting makes a massive difference to the feeling of fluidity when using the phone. I think the trade off in battery usage is worthwhile
  • The WiFi strength is not great. My previous phone was a Note 8 and that phone gets much stronger signal from the 2.4 and 5ghz signals. The Note 10 loses 5ghz signal from just one room away from the router. It also then does not automatically switch to the 2.4ghz signal, like the Note 8 did. So I've had to disable 5ghz completely. This is annoying
  • Battery is great, lasts a whole day, with heavy use
  • Gaming is good, much better than the Note 8
  • I'm disappointed that it does not come with a dual SIM tray. The second SIM slot is blocked off and I'm assuming that dual SIM support is disabled in the firmware too.
All in all, I am very happy with the phone. It feels like a decent upgrade from my Note 8 and is great value for money

Did you get the phone from MIA? Cause the note 10 pro I got from MIA is dual sim, in fact it came with a Telkom DATA sim.

I'm with you on the 120hz point in particular. Makes a massive difference and doesn't seem to hammer the battery too badly.

I'm still enjoying mine about 3 weeks in also. Good phone for the money. Also nice selection of covers available on Takealot.

Nope, got it directly from Vodacom on contract. Pretty weird that they'd be different from different suppliers hey?
