Xiaomi Redmi Note 4/4X

Nope, wasn't that one. Promise you it was this one - the black one. It specifically showed 33% discount. Didn't take a screenshot. You will just have to believe me. If you don't, well I don't really care :D

After reading your post yesterday, I went directly to the product page - https://www.takealot.com/xiaomi-redmi-note-4-32gb-lte-dual-sim-black/PLID45208461 and you were right. The Black Redmi Note 4x was listed for R2399.

It wasn't listed under "Daily Deals" or "App Only Deals", though, but it did have a "Daily Deal" label.

Why not? I got mine at R2800 last year.

R2400 will be below the cost from Mobile in Africa who supply to Takealot. You can't even import one for that price, when taking import duties and vat into account.

This was clearly an error on the Takealot site - backed up by the report that is was definitely not in the daily deals or daily app deals page, but had a daily deals badge on the product page.

I would be interested in hearing from someone who ordered one and is receiving it from Takealot. My gut says they will pick this error up and kill the orders. But I might be wrong.....

Still does not mean it wasn't there. Maybe they're clearing stock?

They often do the same with other items.

Happy New Year guys and everything of the best.

Thanks Sumen & Jax. The info is much appreciated.

Upon further research I see the Indian variant does not support frequency B1 (2100) which Cell C uses for LTE for 4g of which I'm not too concerned off, also the same frequency is used by Vodacom for UMTS. I use Vodacom currently. For LTE Vodacom uses B3 (1800+) of which is supported. What does that plus mean? Does the plus (1800+) mean it covers up to a certain band frequency of which then covers B1 but will equate to UMTS (3G) on Vodacom?

For interest sake if anyone is interested in reading:

Thanks again

Any advice?

Also if anyone can tell me the model number of the SA variant if they have SD625 version.

Thanks in advance

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4

How i can avail such offer and which shipping company gearbest use for ?

That's not even a good price. Note 4 from Gearbest should be no more than $150ish. Then choose whichever is offered to you from these 2 shipping options: MIDDLE EAST EXPRESS or PRIORITY LINE (both use ARAMEX)

The same thing is happening to my dad's RN4 on Telkom Mobile roaming on MTN. As soon as the signal is a bit sh*tty and you try and use the data service, it freezes up and reboots.

My Daughters brand new RN4 does exactly the same - I see this is a slightly older post - Are there any known fixes for this? The phone is running MIUI 9.2.1 Android vers 7

Love the phone by the way, bought it locally from MIA at R2700, so now want to buy one for my son and it has gone up to R3100 Grrrr!

I havent had that issue - but running custom roms. (also on Telkom Mobile)

Anyone using screen protectors on their note 4? Apparently the glass protectors don't fit very well. What has been your experience?

You can see the edges, doesn't bother me.

As long as it covers most of the screen and doesn't pop off after a while then I am not too concerned. I have the same issue with my S8 and the glass screen protector also doesn't really cover the edges.
Which brand screen protector is that and how long have you had it on your phone?

Only about two weeks - but the previous one was on for about three months. i'm hard one phones so they don't last... this protector is already cracked.

Not sure of the brand this time - I just buy whats available in glass... you can see this one isn't actually for the phone, it has a hole for the camera on the wrong side.

Thanks for the input. I have the same issue with the S8 because of the curved screen. I'll see if I can find the soft TPU screen protectors somewhere. I have checked a few sites already but it says it's not for the global version of the Note 4. I don't know what the difference is between the global version and the other version that these protectors don't fit.
