XTouch PF10sV2

Is it possible to install android OS instead?

Hi

My tablet came with win10 but its slow as hell

On the Xtouch site the same tablet comes with Android. Is it possible to install android instead?

Hi Fragtion,

So I managed to reinstall the windows 10 and it seems fine. But I am having problems installing the drivers you provided, not sure if some files are missing from the folders as there is no setup files....even tried following the instructions in those folders but doesn't pick up when trying to install. My touch isn't working, still have to use a mouse or navigate using the keyboard, do you perhaps have other drivers or full driver set?

Thanks A Milli

Me too! Please help Fragtion? I got your drivers (Thank You!) but I can't seem to do much with them?

Putting 16gigs of memory on these devices was a stupid idea, yes it just works on an Android or Apple device as the OSes aren't as bloated. But Windows is about 9 gigs, leaving very little room to actually do anything, especially since you cannot actually use the SD card for applications. I made the mistake of buying a Windows 8.1 Tablet with 16 gigs that's sitting in the drawer, couldn't get it to Windows 10, even when it eventually did it wouldn't go any further and register thanks to requiring new updates which there isn't room.

Hi All

OK Update regarding all of this drama surrounding the touch pad.
I've been in touch with the guys at ESQUIRE regarding this as they were also having issues with the driver, and difficulty contacting the manufacturer.

At first I could not understand what the issue was because on page 1 of this thread it seemed like Contribuques and others reported that the drivers were working perfectly so I assumed that I had re-uploaded the correct drivers after the original yadisk link expired... but following all of the confusion from a number of you more recently, last night I finally had a chance to do a format and reinstall on my device, starting over with the whole process to see what could be wrong...

And low and behold -- I'm not sure how it happened (as I'm usually OCD with these things) but somehow I muddled up the drivers when re-uploading! :( So if you have been using that "DRIVERS_XTOUCH_PF10sV2_X86.7z" package and experiencing problems with the touch screen, this would explain it. That is really my fault and I apologize for any head scratching / time wasted.

The GOOD news is that I found the WORKING drivers again, and have uploaded those here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2nwaOtbl5LIbWdvVV9xUk5pbUk/view?usp=sharing

This should solve any outstanding driver/calibration issues you might be having with this device - in particular the touch panel. Please try these and then report back! I'm running them on Win10 post Creators Update (build 1703, 15063.540) with great success personally, so I trust you'll now have the same joy with these drivers. I have edited the OP post to include this updated link.

Be sure to right click and run the Install.bat file as ADMINISTRATOR, as it needs to copy the Sileadtouch.fw calibration file to your system32 directory, which requires the elevated permissions. Once that's done you should be good to go. Good luck :)

@Fragtion - I hauled my X-Touch out and it was on charge when i left this morning. Will check this out tonight and let you know if they work.

No joy Im afraid - all other drivers 100 % but touch driver "devcon.exe failed"

devcon is an installer tool which should be invoked from a batch file IIRC. I don't think you're installing the drivers correctly. These latest ones are confirmed to work - all of them.

Fragtion - my bad :) :) I tried to install the touch screen driver BEFORE the other driver pack..... It politely refuses to work......
I reinstalled windows, installed the driver pack first, and then the TP drivers and Yup!! 100% working..

Hi all,

A couple of months ago I shared some of your frustrations in respect of the unit’s default operating system and not being able to put such a versatile device to good use due to limited space. Even deploying an additional 64gb storage space didn’t make a real difference.

Other than Esquire’s valued, but failed support attempts, I also ran into a concrete wall when approaching the manufacturer’s support desk…

Well, this weekend I decided to do something about the matter and with a little effort I managed to first install Android upon the unit and thereafter went on to deploy Ubuntu on the unit.

It feels awkward having all the functionality I could wish for and a heap of space available… Eventhough a bit early and having to address some device driver issues it runs smoothly, stabile and sufficiently fast enough for my needs.

Once I’m satisfied that all device drivers were successfully updated and the unit is functioning as it is intended to I’ll post a roadmap in event that there are some of you who might want to consider this as an alternative.

Very nice. Does the touchscreen work correctly on Ubuntu out of the box? Which drivers are you battling with?
