Yebo 4 Less

We still do - channel 60 ;).
It's not quite the same though. On all my phones (Nokia) channel 50 is the only one that gets displayed on the standby screen, I have subscribe to other channels and go into messages to read them.

AFAIK, channel 50 is reserved for Area / Cell Info and it is the only channel besides the Topic Index (channel 0) which has a specified use. MTN and Vodacom are just in violation of the spec.

Vodashysters

Unfortunately, I keep getting infractions for what I write in this thread with no proper reasons given either. It is therefore no longer a fair debate.

Considering the extreme one-sidedness, it just isn't worth contributing anymore so I apologise to anyone tracking this Vodacom issue. Feel free to take it up on your own and at your own risk.

Skeptik

I have recently had a poor experience with a local shop voda3g, due to the high ? volumes of data I need to work I decided to use two suppliers and one happened to be Voda3g in Bayside, the staff are poorly trained, do not know how to manage client expectations and I am reasonably sure this is probably due to the attitude from the top brass. as the saying goes SH*T flows downhill rather fast.

The greed that is visible to the members like me and you is probably flowing from Hellkom inc who lie every time they seem to open their mouths. They speak with forked tongues.

The product is inferior due to the price point, not the other way the poor staff and customer relations issues which can be solved by better training as is true in any industry but as a culture we South Africans are ourselves to blame for the predicament we find ourselves in. Don't accept second best and don't pay for what you did not contract to in the first place. You have rights and a 5 day cooling off period under the law so use it. Complain to your local MP and get support through signatures etc. Don't moan if you are not prepared to put your money where your mouth is and DO SOMETHING about it. Most of all don't accept second best we pay four times what anyone in the UK pays and eight time what they pay in the USA.

We do not have to accept anything, take responsibility for your own part in this and stop B*tchin and moaning get support for better service by starting a local or national petition. the way out of poverty for this country is through the internet and its about time we all started to realise this and FAST!

Hi grootbek. The nick is quite fitting btw ;)

You are suggesting that once you changed to Y4L that they suddenly gave you Less discount than what you normally see? I don't even have to prove it, I know for a fact you are lying. Go and troll elsewhere thank you. :)

+1 on MTN Zone, It works quite nicely the last time I used it.

Finally vodacon

At 23H00 I got a discounted rate of 90%, Wonderfull only if the people I usually talk toe stay in South America, Most normal people sleep in SA at his time, I think it is time for vodacom to wake up and give the customers that are trying to support them what they deserve

The whole point of Y4L is to offer bigger discounts during times when network traffic is low. So you will definitely not see 90% discount during peak times.

The same principle applies to MTN Zone, with the difference being theirs only applies to on-network calls.

Discounts too Low

Has anyone noticed that the vodacom yebo4less discounts have become lower than before. I used to get 99 and 95 percent but the highest I get now is 90% anytime after 12am. Mtn is better the discount is shown when you dial the number and the same discount applies to calls to any network unlike vodacom where the max discount I get to another network is 60 percent. at least with mtn I get 95% discount sometimes. which makes it cheaper to call from mtn to vodacom lol

99% now applies to all networks;).

I agree. On my nokia n82 and n73 channel 50 is the only one that gets displayed on the standby screen when CB is on inside settings. My issue is that even if i go into messages and subscribe to other channels, say the one that displays the area name it never comes onto the standby screen. Its good to have the mtnzone/yb4l messages on the standby, but it would be good if it alternated with area name/weather etc.On my mom's old nokia 6030 it can display the discounts and area name nicely.Aargh!what a bummer.

How can I get the cell info display on my SE W810i? I've enabled cell info and 'reception' but the main display only shows "Vodacom"

You can check the discounts before calling *111*444# I find it to be more accurate. Some times the the cell display info displays the incorrect discounts.
