After a few years of sitting in various highway parking lots, a few things really started to irritate me. My peeves are:

- People who stop 5 car lengths behind the car in front of them.
- People who give way to 4 cars at a time.
- Twits who text non-stop on their phone resulting in everyone behind them standing still while there's a 100m of free road in front.
- Constant braking when there's no need to.
- Buses and trucks trying to squeeze into a 2m gap resulting in both lanes being blocked.

All these seem to add to the congestion of all the cars behind the culprit. I won't even get started on taxis because we all know about them.

What's your traffic pet peeves?

mine are traffic lights, and old people still driving cars.
i don't need to be slowed down.... seriously....

Learner drivers in peak traffic in Joburg, I was stuck behind at least one every day last week!

*******s that drive too far on the right of the road so that I cannot pass on my bike. and ppl who dont check their mirrors before changing lanes.

In the car would be the obvious. ...Taxi's. In peak time thye still just stop whenever to pick people up. drive down the shoulder (that i goddam hate).

I dont feel ppl driving badly is a as much of a problem as people driving inconsiderately. Common decency goes along way.

What I don't understand is, why are there always traffic problems when it rains. It's as if people's intelligence is washed away by the rain or something.

My other theorie about this is that when it rains people tend to get up later and thus everyone gets on the road at about 7:40 and this causes all the problems.

Or maybe people are so afraid when it rains that they tend to drive half the speed limit.

I HATE people that stop over the white line at robots!!

And then they still go foward like they cant wait for the robot and then when the robots green, they drive slow or take of 5 seconds after the robot changed green!! WTF!!! Most Toyota drivers also.

Yeah I also noticed that, but waking up late doesn't account for when this happens on the way home after work. Ironically the main culprits seem to be those whose cars do have safety systems in place for wet weather.

what is hilarious is when people drive like mad and then see a traffic cop, and then slow down, especially multiple cars. i've done it plenty of times as well, but it's just hilarious to see. :D:D:D

I think it just makes people more lethargic and less willing to concentrate. When I had the Subaru , being 4 wheel drive, when it rained was when it really came into play and the drive was unbelievable. People just seem less interested in the rain. And theres the fact that you get drivers so unsure of themselves that a slight change in environment and its back to the big red "L" in the back window.

That comes a close second for me and when you hoot at them the teacher in the passenger seat usually gives the finger. I secumb to raod rage thats why i dont carry a gun anymore.

- Trucks overtaking another truck going uphill. They're only going like 1km/h faster than the truck they are overtaking but they cause a huge tailback
- Broken down trucks in Gilloolies
- The learner SAP drivers (with 5 in a car) in Benoni. You can spot them a mile off by the long line of cars waiting for the white corsa to overcome its fear of green robots
- People who insist on pushing into the gap between you and the car in front even though there's no frikken room. Especially hate this in rainy weather when I try to leave a gap for my own safety

when someone pulls out in front of me and goes slow...

ppl who drive 40... then when they see the robot changing orange they speed up and go through the red, leaving you there, this seems to happen alot to me.

People who are inconsiderate, like when you driving down an 80 road and two cars are next to each other going 60.. then i get pissed...

I can stand all of the things you mentioned but just one drives me mad...

THE F@CKEN PETROL PRICE!! F@CK ME SIDEWAYS!:sick::sick::sick::sick:

I'm not sure why people are complaining about learner drivers ?
We've all been there, and we were basically "begging" people to be patient with us.

Lol I try to make the orange robots...
But I also prefer to be first in line at a robot.

-And a rather annoying one...i real traffic-peeve i guess : The right lane is full (bumper to bumper) and going 100-120kmh, the slow lane is somewaht empty but every 100mtres there's a truck. Now you get these people going out of the fast lane into the slow lane, speeding up to 140kmh passing 1 or 2 cars on the right and then try to move back into the fast lane when they get to the slow moving truck [usually right in front of me or exactly the same spot they were originally] .
--> this is a similar feeling as someone driving down the yellow lines and then trying to move into your lane

-People riding bumper to bumper @ 120kmh on a road like the R21 . When the car in front starts slowing down, the car glued to his bumper slams the breaks and everyone behind him starts breaking too....40 cars later you are standing still for no aparant reason. This will then result in a constant stop-go-stop-go fashion.

-People slowing down to 80kmh at a visible traffic-camera when the board right there say the speed limit is 100kmh or 120kmh .

-People driving 80kmh in the middle lane when there's no cars in the slow lane. Forcing me to overtake on the left lane going at 100-120kmh .

I have to agree with that, I have not had my licence for that long. Sure learner drivers are a pain but we were all there. Thats why I can be patient with them (most of the time).. Its the experienced drivers that I want to :mad:

1) Here I am driving 130km and a car comes racing up behind me. Fine I wold pull over or go faster BUT a) There is a truck or lot of traffic next to me. b) None of the cars are going faster in the lane I am in.. C) Both,

WTF am I supposed to do, start flying

2) People that do not let you in, or for me worse people who DO NOT THANK YOU, those people I wish I could ram into them

3) Constant lane changers who get no further than one car infront of you.

4) People going 60km/h on the N2. Come on people the limit is 120km/h.. Although worse is when these people won't pull over for you and they are in the fast lane.

5) Just f#@* retards, showing off SOB's... And taxi's well :mad::mad:
