Zest T1

Has anyone tried the partition update on Windows 8?

Surprised, I have been using SP Flash Tool from windows 8.1 with no problems, maybe this is a different version. My download is going very slow so will be a while before I can check.

I have. Sp tool freeze. No go.

Yes but the Zest version is a bit different as it shows other stuff like LCD etc the other one does not...and it is a later version too.

restoring backups. Space has indeed been partitioned. So that's good news

Also, all the bloatware apps came with again.

What backup app are you using? Will Titanium Backup work on a non rooted phone?

Way to much bloatware. But it is partitioned.

The firmware is dated newer (14th), but (other than a few more bloatware apps than before), seems the same as the last OTA.

Still have to resort to Wifi Roaming Fix to maintain constant wireless connectivity (which does do the job just fine) - but at least the partitioning makes a bit more sense: I can confirm there's now a total of exactly 3.94GB of available phone storage.

My last remaining wish is an improvement in touch accuracy on the screen.

Otherwise, I'm now pretty happy with the T1.

I just downloaded and ran the software. This has been the longest 264 seconds of my life since I last unlocked and rooted my old Nexus. Now waiting for the phone to finish installing its firmware as per the last step.

If you boot into the recovery, and do a factory reset, it removed all the bloatware, and you're left with a pretty clean Android setup.

Is there some way of removing the "phone storage" partition altogether? I'm somewhat used to just having one partition and the freedom of deciding how I fill that storage.
