Zest T1

I eventually got it installed. Thanks for whomever posted the tip about loading the DA. bin

I was really curious to find out exact figures for the T1. It appears that Alps supplies similar phones on bulk discount.
Qty.Range(unit) Price(per unit)
1 US$79.00
2-4 US$77.00
5-9 US$76.00
10-19 US$74.00
20+ US$72.00
* Discounts may vary based on options above .
So if you have the know how, and want to develop your own phone that rivals the T1 for a fraction of the price, http://www.mixeshop.com/w450-mtk658...b-rom-android-42-3g-gps-smartphone_p2908.html

That phone looks identical to the T1 with slightly different specs.
Is the T1 really locally manufactured. Looking at Alps I have my doubts

Its made in China. Its on the box of the T1.

Is it just me or does it look like that Alps phone is running TouchWiz UI.

So, first serious problem I ran into.
Yesterday, one of our project managers tried to send me contact details of a person I had to call for work purposes- He did it using an mms, which is not an unreasonable thing to do.

My phone can't download said mms as I don't have settings for it, and logging on to Vodacom website, it says: Unfortunately there are currently no settings available for your UNKNOWN UNKNOWN

So, does anybody have working settings for mms, or a work-around?

Does look really similar, they even offer a second battery

Since flashing the repartitioned firmware I can't encrypt the phone. It comes back with an error and then resets the phone to default settings. Can anyone who has not rooted the phone confirm this? Mine is rooted, and I don't particularly feel like flashing it again to see if the unrooted firmware also has the same problem.

Encrypting now. Will advise.

Its better running 2000mAh as opposed to our batteries that are 1600mAh. Do you think it will work if it fits, or will it just fry the phone?
