'Zuma Will Be Next President'

A freind of mine woke up the other nite to hear large "rats" walking about his roof, and no it was not RSA it was in a sleepy 'safer' part of london - they were stealing the roof tiles and he had SWITCH OFF HIS ALARM BEFORE CALLING THE COPS. He goes to bed every night and has to switch his alarm on from his bedside remote.

As to the rascist rubbish that you have been subjected to , take up the cause with the local MP start a press campaign about rascism but run? No DO something for yourself because you only have yourself to blame if you leave. You will discover like many other South Afrcans that it is better 'back home' but that you are too broke to come home. Take your struggle to the courts if need be and do not let the rascism stop you. Fight for your rights as it is your own fault if you lose them by giving up.

You have to use every means at your disposal to create opportunity, this is no different!

Show that you have a love for your country by staying and proving that white south africans are not just economic cowards. Be that strong South African that you can be, because being an African is in your blood and it will always go with you.

And please guys because I call you African does not mean you are automatically black!

Fight, talk yell if you have to but do not stand for this injustice by running away - it never solved anything!

I grew up in the UK - in a not so wonderful neighbourhood and guess what, crime was nowhere as rampant or as violent as it is here. Sadly some of that is changing, but as pointed out by many others, it is mostly becoming a problem in certain parts of the major cities. My hometown in the UK has had TWO gun murders in the past 20 years. Compare that to the "town" where I'm living now where there was one last weekend (and according to the official SAPS statistics 108 in the past 4 years)

So while crime may be rampant across the world, the especially heinous variety available locally should make anyone cringe with horror.

Yeah . . unless you want to be robbed. I had way more exposure to crime living in my sleepy little UK village than I have had here in my sleepy SA 'burb. :o

Obviously that's just my personal experience.

I'm trying to decide if you are naive, a liar or just plain stupid. You tell me.

Crime is a global problem, but nowhere else in the world deals with the quantity or brutality that SA does.

If you want to argue otherwise, you'd best start with some stats backing up your point.

Not picking on Andy here, but i kinda annoys me when people go "then just move" or "just leave". No-one ever considers that it takes money and those "safer" places cost alot more money.

As for Zuma as president? Personally I think that is a bad idea.

As for the "dont jump on the media wagon blindly and give him a chance" - that kind of thinking is how the government feels about crime. It's all made up in the news right?

Zuma = R40 a pound by the end of 2009
Zuma = end of whites in SA
Zuma = a south africa for all south africans (as long as you black)

Some of the comments in this thread are laughable, I cant believe there are people that defend this guy, if Zuma was put through the courts in a first world country, he would be sitting behind bars right now. But in SA, his a free man, the next president. Start pealing and eating those bananas all you liberals...

NZ is 99% paradise, crime is like non existant, no need for medical aid, schooling is all free, public transport works, criminals get put into jail where they belong, its just such a pitty the ANC did not take up the opportunity and turn SA into something spectacular, instead they running our beloved country into the ground.

The 1% bad part about NZ, the weather can be crap, the houses ARE crap.
 
If it comes down to Zuma vs. Mbeki, I'd honestly rather have Zuma. Zuma might be bad, but giving Mbeki a third term will do untold damage to the constitution. It will set a precedent. In all likelihood, it will give Mbeki another few years and his successor a lifetime in office!

If the opposition candidate was anyone other than Mbeki, they'd be a better choice than Zuma. Honestly, two facts scare the crap out of me: first, the fact that Mbeki is even being considered, despite the violation of the constitution, and secondly, the fact that some idiot without any education and surrounded by corruption and rape charges is allowed into any political office.
 
Once again Charlie, the constitution is not being threatened. Read carefully, he is running for a third term as ANC president. Whether that is a good thing or not is still up for discussion.

As long as you and ur family are happy, safe, and having all the nice life down/up there, that's fine with me. R u coming back to SA?
So do encourage all white people to come over to NZ as you said if Zuma becomes a president, that the end of white people?

I'm not saying that crime is localised to South Africa only. I know there is crime in the rest of the world, unlike you I am not completely naive. The fact remains, however, that sure, your friend had people on his roof stealing tiles, but did they then break into the house, gang rape him, and then offer him boerewors as they had a braai? Did they murder everyone in the house, raping his wife and children in front of his eyes? See one of the biggest differences between the crime in SA versus the crime elsewhere in the world is that in SA it is barbarically brutal, it is horrific and down right savage.

And you know what the other huge difference between these other countries and South Africa is?

The other countries are not actually considering voting one of those criminals into office.
