BlackBerry vs Android vs iPhone: Vodacom smartphone statistics

The slow BIS is enough to put me - and I suspect others - from using a BB in future.

As a consumer I have no idea if it's my specific area, my specific network or RIMs own infrastructure - but I also don't care. I'd prefer pay and fast compared to free and painfully slow.

So I'll move to one of other two platforms shortly.

Nokia is going to change this as they release more corporate productivity and connectivity software on both Windows Phone as well as Symbain^3 Belle.

Add to that their superior hardware and immortal status as phone maker and BB should be pooping its pants.

Do they still make Nokia's?

It's been years since I saw one

If Blackberry is the only one have this internet Subscription still to take time to go down they will lead SA market

Strange... you should try visiting planet Earth at some stage.
Majority of phones here are Series40 Nokia devices.

Seems I'm not alone then, eh ;)

lol was also wondering about that. Last one was a 2110.

I still see 1 or 2 here and there. But yea, not much. Its all Android/BB these days...

I can't think of a single friend or even acquaintance with a Nokia. Tons of Blackberries, a fair number of iPhones and HTCs ...

I still see my fair share of those old Nokia's..

But mainly in the hands of domestic workers, gardeners etc etc..

Most ppl in the "corporate" world ditched Nokia quite a while ago.

In retrospec I think you guys should stick with using BlackBerry - its a level of phone that perfectly matches your level. Actually any fruit phone will do. Enjoy.

I'm guessing RIM will be out the handset market by the end of next year and will focus on packaging all the BlackBerry services making them multi platform and charging a monthly subs for it. They will make a killing. Will be tuff though with FaceBook Message, WhatsApp and iMessage gathering momentum. Only ace up the sleeve would be free "quality" internet if they managed to get that by the SP's.

Just accept that Nokia has no answer for anything currently on the market.

Do you care to elaborate on that? Like maybe give a few examples of phones and usages of them where Nokia does not provide a solution?

I know the opposite is very true as neither Blackberry or Apple or Android build feature phones or entry level ultra basic phones for the masses.

But please do humor us and continue with this elaboration on version of reality.

Why are we comparing two companies products (Blackberry and iPhone) vs a generic phone operating system?
Surely you should compare Blackberry, iPhone, Motorolla Droid, Samsung Galaxy, etc?
Or if you want to compare operating systems, then compare Blackberry OS, iOS and Android

That's where they should stay.

Awh, very cute but slightly obvious attempt to derail and throw people off my question.

Seriously though, it seems we are comparing OSes against companies and when it comes to building millions of phones using different OSes then nobody does it as well as Nokia does. They did give us the smartphone afterall.

Um, no they didn't....

Again your knowledge of Cellular phones is woeful at best Roux...

The Ericson R380 was the first "smartphone" on the market in a form we would all recognise, prior to that they were not smartphones, and even then Nokia wasn't the first, IBM was.
