Personally I have used 129Gb this month. I'm not sure about my download speeds because most of my downloads are scheduled for 12-6 but my WoW latency on 4 machines are always around 200ms so I am a happy camper.

All is going well for you - great. What is the point of forums if not to raise issues when they arise. Any good company would welcome feedback as this can only help to make them a better company.

How much time do you suggest then would be fair to give the company before complaining?

You are paying for a service, but hey don't raise any concerns if you are not getting what you paid for until a few months down the line. No offence to you, but this is why in SA we have so many poor businesses and service

Maybe send them the port numbers that your games use and let them test it. I've had one lag spike on Tuesday night where my lat went up to 800 for a minute but after that it came back down to 200 again. (and yes, it did cause a wipe in wow bloody $&%^^%$ WA. How could you!!!)

So you can assume they didn't have a beta group that tested but I can't assume you want to download the internet?

Maybe we should ask WAJeff if they had a beta tester group and how many people were in it. Either way, he has explained that they had more signups than they thought they would have and that is why the extra bandwidth are being provisioned on the 15th. Now take the knot out of your panty and stop bitching for two days. If it didn't improve them go back to openweb/mweb/whoever and write this off as a bad experience.

I'd say till the 15th. If it doesn't improve then go back to your old ISP. If they didn't respond at all then I would also have thrown my toys out the cot but they told us what the problem is and what they are doing to fix it.
 
Well if you look at the way this forum threads been going and I include myself in this, it all started of really positive regardless of the problems faith in them being fixed soon etc... and as the days go on and on and the situation stays the same, Jeff doesnt seem to have been getting the whole information as when he was telling us the upgrade had already happened the network engineers started saying the 15th would be the day. I've seen where lots rage from day one of a problem but one can only go so long before patience thins and then you start picking things apart, why are things like this why this why is his fine and mine not etc... I know I've started on things like why is performance just non existant for out of threshold people leaving in threshold people fine, why do I experiance the problems at night and not during the day, why are there no notifications when the AUP/FUP policy changes...

I have no idea how badly I will react if capacity gets upgraded and my problems stay.
 
THe only thing that works properly for me is Browsing. Streaming music, gaming buffers lag constantly.

If I wanted just an browse account I would have signed up for an R90 Uncapped browse only account ages ago.

Its just alittle frustating for ppl like us who dont want to strain the network but want the comfort of knowing you wont be cutoff if you exceed your cap. Ill be as patient as I can be and wait it out till the 15 but if the situation does not improve then I know this account is not for me.
 
Hi guys,

Just a quick update, the capacity does seem to have made a significant difference on our network. There is still a fair amount of spare capacity available - so our network isn't bottoming out, but isn't running at an ideal levels.

To remind everyone, another capacity increase is due for the 15th of December and more in early 2012. I don't have all the updates on those just yet. The news server has seen a substantial increase in performance. Users who have exceeded the threshold may see a slight performance dip - but the guys who haven't shouldn't have any performance strains at all.
 
Hello Jeff

The report I got in a past support ticket quoting the network engineers they said the local capacity had been upgraded and the international one was for the 15th. I can see its made no difference to a lot of us here, the only thing I can think of is everything that whats being complained about is being deprioritised so that the network does not max out and EVERYTHING break otherwise why would we be experiancing any problems at all ?

I guess the 15th is going to answer a lot of questions and either make a lot of people happy or a lot of people very angry.

Crossing fingers for the happy part :)

From my experience with the WA news server today and yesterday: 200-300KBps (avg. ~250KBps) not throttled and 80-200KBps (avg. ~120KBps) throttled. I'm sitting at around 38GB on the 7 day limit but have exceeded the 6 hour limit twice.

Streaming is ALWAYS ~60KBps (starts off fast and then slows down to a trickle), which is currently my only complaint. But it's a big complaint.

My streaming is perfect Youtube,radio, etc. I'm on a 1Mbps line and it loads faster than i can watch it.

Browsing for me is also great. Only problem is the downloading

Lucky you. Anything higher than 360p on YouTube is ****ing pointless for me and I'm pretty used to 1080p, what with having a 4Mb line. That's pretty much gone to hell.

Videos on Vimeo, MegaVideo, Kotaku, GameSpot (read: anything NON-YOUTUBE) is worth **** and can easily take 45-minutes-to-an-hour to download. Things that SHOULD take five minutes. HD content is completely out of the question.

So yeah, consider yourself exceptionally lucky. You have my envy.

I'm in Knysna.

I get the feeling routing is playing a part in our troubles although even then, latency is nominal... Throughput is just questionable. Yet it's not a constant. Things like Steam can download quite comfortably.

Meh.. I don't know. I'm not technically minded enough about ISP networks.
 
EK sit ook hier in die bos en ek het dieselfde ondervinding.

So by 6pm gaan als tot hell.

Then gaming, streaming videos is impossible.

Im within my Threshold I dont nearly Exceed it.

No. I haven't been throttled at all since I started:

Nor is my usage excessive or even remotely abusive.
 
Lycan if you are talking 1080p then even I have to wait for it to buffer a bit.

720p is still ok.
