Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update unveiled

Another solid update.

I'm still waiting for 4.2 to be released for my S3. Lame.

4.1.2 is what I have on my Sammy 3.

Maybe Samsung will roll out 4.3 in SA or is it subject to the networks?

Subject to networks.

That's the benefit of Nexus devices- no carrier approvals or testing required. Direct updates from Google.

Root your device and upgrading is so simple! The added benefit of getting rid of the bloatware is not to be sneezed at either!

I think just go to your settings and there is a upgrade button...

Having had a Nexus for - hmm about a year now - I've found that even though the updates are out "NOW" .. it takes a day or two for them to filter through to all devices. I've tried just about every trick in the book - and I am not sure any actually worked or if it was purely co-incidental that I got the upgrade after I did trick-X or trick-Y .. but clearing the Google Framework Service trick does seem to work for a lot of people.

Happy Updating
*goes to pray to the android gods that they fix the bluetooth issues this time around*

When you have millions of devices to update, staggering the release over a few days is to be expected. Having said that, I probably will be mashing that update button very frequently until it starts the update.

If you are willing to wipe the phone, you can download the appropriate image directly from the Google server and install. No root needed.

Edit: Nexus devices only.
