Mweb Throttling Bull

I highly recommend Openweb :) If you don't mind being shaped during business hours.

Yeah but only the Gold package is worth it because according to there forum, the other products are heavily shaped to the ground and throughput is bad. But Gold is 100 rand more :(

I don't know about other packages but I can confirm that the gold package is worth every cent :) You can queue a long list of torrent downloads at night and it will be always cleared in the next morning. I do this every day without worrying about getting throttled in the ass :)

Real time services such as Youtube, any streaming sites, Windows Update sites and etc are unshaped 24/7. Web browsing is always fast even during business hours. P2P is shaped during daytime from Mondays to Fridays.

On weekends, all packages are always unshaped from 7pm on Fridays to 8am on Mondays.

Or Afrihost/Afrihost Business.

Steam is downloading the new humble bundle like there's no tomorrow and no worries about being throttled. This is on a normal Afrihost account.

New member here, just wanting to let anyone who is interested to know that if you are considering moving away from MWEB due to throttling, please don't wait any longer, MOVE NOW! I've just switched over to Afrihost Business Uncapped 1mbps and all I can say is http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/images/...broadband.co.za/vb/images/smilies/biggrin.gif. What a difference in quality and speed of connection, my downloads are running at full capacity and torrents at about 90 Kbps which I've never really experienced with MWEB. I couldn't stand the throttling policy MWEB have implemented anymore so made the move yesterday and Afrihost signed me up within 20 minutes. All I can say is goodbye MWEB, and hello to my new best friend, Afrihost http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/images/smilies/love.png

@DarkSpectre, lol thanks man so glad i made the jump even though I had to pay two ISP's in the same month, it was worth it though. Unfortunately not on facebook have however tweeted @MWEBConnect on their crap throttling.

Just thought I would also mention that MWEB's reply on twitter was that they were really sad to see me leave with a 'sad smiley face' lol nice touch. Also just to cap off the MWEB experience they've just sent me one of those AUP emails to say my connection will slow down because of the 'magical fairy imagination land fair usage limit' being reached. Bear in mind I only average about 100 gigs p/m and my current 30 day rolling period usage shows 116 gigs. Once again thanks so much MWEB for the wonderful service you are throt. . . uhm. . . providing.

Mine was 123 GB or around there and was throttled for almost a week :/ Good luck with Afrihost mate :)

MWEB throttled my 1MB Premium uncapped account for a month after using just 60GB.. My monthly average usage is +-120GB.
