Favourite Coffee Blend

Food Lovers Market has a coffee section. A nice variety of beans from all over.
I bought some Guatemala Chocolate Roast there yesterday.. they even ground the beans up for me. Chocolate coffee!
Pure heaven, I say. And prices are not bad, either. And I don't even LIKE coffee...

Re: Best Coffee in Johannesburg

You should seriously try Scruges at the bright water commons

They get my vote

And I'd say I'm a huge critic, I absolutely despise any coffee at any garage including wildbean *vomit*

the problem with coffee in this country is similar to the one we have with draught beer, the people that pour/dispense are not trained effectively nor have the passion for what they do (I'm talking mainstream here)

I spent a few weeks in Italy a couple of years ago where the have a real coffee culture, I never had a single bad cup of coffee

Re: Best Coffee in Johannesburg

A good cup of coffee is personal taste. Had a thick brew of Italian coffee and it was kak. Coffee people are all about this and not that, when in the end, taste differs.

Beanthere looks pretty awesome. Any recommendations? Which countries' beans are the best?

Coffee, coffee, coffee ...

So I got myself an automatic coffee/cappuccino machine and now I am on a quest to get best coffee for my taste-buds.

I started of years ago with House of Coffee's coffee, tried some other brands and even mixing different brands to get different taste combinations. The last couple of years I only bought Illy and must say that I liked it (and still does). I am in a mood to change and this is where it starts.

Which flavour rocks your world?

EDIT: Where do you buy it and what does it cost?

We get like 5 bags of Beanstruk coffee a month from a place in Ballito... best is cuban or espresso.

Sabie River Coffee has recently been grabbing my fancy. I still enjoy the Santos Espresso from The Perfect Cup as well. Problem is, both of these require travel.

I really enjoy Woolworth's espresso beans. Big 1kg silver bag.

We got the small 250g bag (for R35) to test the new machine with because Illy is way too expensive to test and get the hang of the mchine especially if it delivers only 30ml. And I must admit, it is surprisingly good.
