I got bitdefender total security and man did it give me headaches.
Firstly, it started giving me Blue screens of Death, after investigating and running WhoCrashed and asking myBB for help, the conclusion was bitdefender.
Well after not doing anything and not getting that dreaded blue screen I though mmmm, the problem corrected itself.
That was not the case...
After getting some movies (blu-ray) to watch, my blu-ray drive could not read the disc, but normal dvd discs was playing but only after a while.
Well I stripped my M03r and uninstalled stupid bitdefender, after that nothing was wrong with playing the blu-ray disc.
Anyone had similar problems with bitdefender?
So i'm looking for a new anti-virus... any suggestion?
PS Elysium is awesome

Avast, the free edition is brilliant!

I have an old laptop and put linux (ubuntu) on it, so do websurfing etc on it. I have main desktop for games and other stuff but not for general web surfing.

I vote for Avast. Several years of it and now my word documents appear as: Ψηφίζω για το Avast. Αρκετά χρόνια του και τώρα τα έγγραφα του Word εμφανίζεται ως εξής:

Avast constanly made me blue screen... Tried them all. Bitdefender Itnternet Security is what I'm running on all my PC's no problems since 2008. Its down to user experience, some will say this is the best, that is the best. Quite impressed with Security Essentials and Malwarebytes, they work well together on my work laptop.

Avast is great but I recently switched to Microsoft Security Essentials and I'm very happy with it.

Why has no one mentioned Kaspersky yet?

After using almost all antivirus programs, Kaspersky's internet security suit has really been one of the best for me.

MSE is a very good alternate switched to it about a yr back and its been gr8 so far ... but u will need some
malware goodies to ... Malwarebytes / adwcleaner etc

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I'm not very fond of Avast tried it before bitdefender,
I'll give MSE a go

On my one pc i have Avira, on my other PC i have Comodo and MSE. no problems with either. Comodo works really well with MSE.

If you are willing to pay, then Kaspersky and ESET are both very good products.

Avast Imternet Security with malwarebytes scans occasionally on pc and Avast for android on my phone.
Havent had a problem in the last 4 or 5 years, except crapping my pants after leaving my pc on with the speakers on and late at night the female voice shouts out "AVAST VIRUS DATABASE HAS BEEN UPDATED!!!!!!!!!"
