Telkom 100Mbps LTE rollout areas: new details

Congratulations to the few hundred people that get it.
 
spreading out LTE will probly be a better connection, may not be as fast as fiber, but should be cheaper to build? connect many more homes with LTE for the same cost than fiber?
with fiber cable there is still the cable thieves.... we know they steal the cable first, then find out its not copper... damage already done, and weeks for the comunity to wait for repairs. With wireless repairs can be done quickly.
First need to educate the population, about what fiber cables look like, and what it means to have internet vs not having, and what it means when they f-up the cables.
 
Way to go Telkom !!!!! I'm loving my 50 GB / month of TM cellular data. Never had less than 10 Mbps in my suburb.

Been with 8ta/TM for 2.5 years now, and REALLY love it. No way I'm going back to Vodascum or eMpTyN

If that's your neighbourhood.. no need to leave - you can get a big house there for like 300k - some of the houses on property24 there have cars parked in the driveway that are worth more than the house itself.

Pity I wouldn't last a minute there :)
 
They can roll out and offer 1241252523523664y3254000000Mbps wirelessly, it doesn't matter.
Only a select few can afford to ride the OOB shark.
And those who are ignorant, get data mauled.
 
So what's the radius for LTE and where can I get a coverage map? Also when are we going to see a price reduction?
 
I was very happy with my Telkom Mobile LTE for the last 7 Months, I've now signed for the 10+10 package, their gent Yash U. here in CT was great...all sorted.

Was about to ask the same question,seeing that my town/city is rather small and my thinking that maybe one or two towers would cover it and be LTE enabled.I mean we are 10Mbps enabled,3G/HSDPA from all the networks,Darkfibre fiber network in some suburb(s),and heard through the grapevine:whistle: that some or one area might be getting 20/40Mbps this year.So what's the hold up? Or maybe just doesn't make economic/business sense seeing we are considered a "poor" area?
