New iPhone or HTC Touch Pro?

With the new iPhone, just iWait for a few iMonths for the iBugs to be ironed out.

Rather go for something with a proven track record.

v1.00 of anything new always do have a few annoying bugs.

Also, the most important question to ask is : can you afford it?

Rather get something you can afford and use, than something glitzy which'll bankrupt you.

iPhone is so far behind the game it's a joke!!! The only area this handset excels in is the marketing department and that is why every one wants one. Great marketing on behalf of Apple but if you sit down and do an honest evaluation of the phone and it's functionality vs HTC touch pro you will expose its pound for pound inferiority...

I have to agree.

The new iPhone is pretty good... has all the features the Touch Pro has... except a QWERTY-keyboard...

How much is this new iphone going for in stores here? It should be cheaper than the HTC...
And that's another reason I wouldn't touch iPhone, it hasn't been officially launched in SA yet or if it has it was only recently. What sort of after sale service is in place for the repairs to faulty or malfunctioning handsets? How is Apples infrastrcuture in SA? It practically non-exsistent!! Perhaps the main reason they hadn't launched the iPhone in one of the worlds biggest cell phone consuming markets... Having said that Leaf who distribute and repair HTC's are not much better...

Such as?

Personally I would decide what is the most important feature of the phone that I need/desire and make my decision based on which phone fulfills that the best.

but what of the price? at 200 dollars, its actually very cheap! look at the n95 8gb, that costs about 650 dollars, and the htc diamond doesnt have 8gb memory, and costs 500 pounds (so htc touch pro should cost more?).

i'm not an apple fan at all (in fact, i despise apple) but its hard to hate all the features of the iphone at 200 dollars. but i'll wait and see it released locally first (both fones actually) and then decide. all indications tho are that i'll be getting an iphone :D

do any of you guys dissing the iphone actually have an iphone??

put the htc in real life next to the iphone and compare!!
