Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Thank you Afrigirl, please keep us posted on developments when you can.
A notice has been added and SMSes will be sent to all affected clients. Vuma is experiencing a cooling issue at the POP.

Hi Afrigirl, seems it's all sorted now. Thank you for the help

Real test however will be loadshedding, which hits my area now 10-12 (problems usually start during/after loadshedding).

@Afrigirl @AfriNatic

Still getting packet loss to London / Amsterdam / New York - every single night.

What do we do at this point? Is logging another fault going to solve anything?

Morning,

We are aware of the packetloss happening during the evening peak for the Northern Region. Our Transit provider is facing congestion issues in LINX and has moved traffic around via Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Marseille to alleviate the issue until their LINX capacity can be upgraded.

Thanks, any ETA on the upgrade?

It seems my usage is not updated on the portal. Has this happened to anyone else? MFN
Been stuck like this for most of the month. Internet still works well, though.

If usage is not updated it could mean 1 of 2 things.

1. You only move IPv6 traffic. We don't currently record IPv6 traffic usage.
2. You are not correctly mapped. If this is the case you can visit https://login.afrihost.com/activate.php to make sure you are correctly mapped to your service.

Has to be the incorrectly mapped, by the looks of it.

I activated again. Let's see if my usage updates later today/tomorrow :X3:

@AfriNatic No1. is interesting. Even on Openserve? Do you only meter IPv4 traffic? So if I look at my usage do I only see IPv4?

If not let me know so we can check for you.

Looks like the reactivate did not do anything

I got a Huawei WS5200 wifi router when I signed up for Afrihost fibre way back, is this router locked to Afrihost's fibre network?

I moved house and no longer have fibre, I have wireless P2P internet now, but I'm unable to use this router with my wireless internet which also has a PPPoE connection. I tried 3 or 4 times, even completely reset the router each time but it simply doesn't want to work.
Fortunately I have another router on which the PPPoE connection works just fine, but I want to use the Huawei.

Our routers are not network locked. You can just switch TR-069 off to prevent the auto dhcp config to be pushed.
