Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

@AfriNatic

Any idea if one does a sim swop on a sim that was deactivated do I retain my data already claimed

Even with a sim swop I got a different number on Airmobile

If you got a new number, the sim swap was unsuccessful or has not been completed.
Should you wish to continue with the new number, you can sign up for an Air Mobile prepaid package, and we will assist with the data transfer from your existing number.

@Afrigirl Is there perhaps a portal where I can lookup call rates for a number?

I know there's a PDF on your website, but I don't know which provider is behind a number, as not all landline numbers are on Telkom anymore or yours

Hello. Is it from a VoIP or MTN number?

Any outages with vuma village, or whatever it's called lol

There are a couple.

Honeydew Manor - NWI-14368
Noordheuwel - NWI-14370
Greenstone Hill - NWI-14371
Glen Marais - NWI-14372
Pentagon Park - NWI-14373

These have been logged since 18:00 this evening.

Which street/complex are you in? I'm in Lonehill/Pineslopes and my line has been down since yesterday. Trying to figure out if it's just my line or an area outage.
I'm on The Straight Avenue, down the road from Pineslopes shopping centre.

Down again in Parys.
Nothing will convince me otherwise, when Vumatel did the rollout in the Vaal and surrounding areas they were rushing to beat Openserve and half assed everything and this down every three days is the result.

If you're covered and not stuck in a contract you should really consider moving to Openserve.

We are, this is terrible. If this happens again we're moving, too much stuff running off fiber these days, security, dstv etc an odd drop of service once in 6 months is fine, but days and days in a row of random outages means there's serious problems.

I did the same thing 6 months ago, I was with Vumatel in Sasolburg for almost 2 years and there wasn't once a period of more than 14 days in a row where there wasn't some sort of an issue and then it became days in a row instead of hours when I finally moved to Openserve.

In the 6 months with Openserve there was one ~40 minute outage and another time at midnight it disconnected for maybe 10 minutes, that's it.

Been having Vumatel network issues post loadshedding, - takes an hour after loadshedding to get assigned an IP ... faults have been logged by peeps in the area - apparently Vumatel is aware of the issue. Yesterday, was the first time in a while, once power was resorted - connectivity... this morning LS ended at 4am and the whole area is still down , logged a fault through Afrihost : ISP-1082501 -- can someone put some fire under Vuma and get things sorted....thanks in advance.

Why are you not using a R500 UPS to keep your line active during LS?

I get an allowance for Mobile Data during loadshedding -- if I start UPs íng things next the inhabitants in my household will be demanding solar --- just managing expectations my end - little disconnect time from Netflix and DSTV always good for the cantankerous fossils elderly...
