Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

@Afrigirl @AfriGuy

Went away hoping to come back to fibre that actually works. Still have low download speeds and regular packet loss to EU servers. At this point I am ready to cancel my service because I am not getting what I pay for and I cannot game online with constant packet loss.

Vuma Villages.

Hi

We had an issue earlier that still seems a bit intermittent with regards to international latency and we are seeing some minor packet loss every few minutes. We have logged it with the vendor.

My issue is that this has been going on for months (in our area at least), and there seems to be no acknowledgment from Vuma and no feedback on whether this is being investigated or if any attempts are being made to rectify it.

Vuma will only admit stuff to a journalist writing an article about them.

@AfriNatic Fiber on the Vuma backend here in Parys, Free State seems down, again.

Up again, getting vietnam flashbacks of ADSL these guys should get their uptime higher.

Second time today it's down here in Parys, wonder what's going on.

Been up and down the whole day. Saw Vuma technicians driving around, checking sporadically.

@AfriNatic, any feedback from Vumatel?

Hi guys,

I'm on Metrofibre, just checking if the upgrades have been completed on all profiles? Still sitting on 50mbps or so.

Not seeing any outages or issues anywhere on the network.

Can you try to do a trace route to one of the IP's serving data for instagram to see if there is maybe loss of some sort to it.

There was no loss but for some reason the AX3 didn’t like being on 2.4ghz b/g/n/AX on wireless N devices even using a Wi-Fi 6 device had issues

dropped to b/g/n on 2.4ghz and has been no problems kept 5Ghz on AX

Also Wi-Fi environment is very clear no one else’s Wi-Fi picks up
