123NET Fibre

Well, it seems their Facebook page has disappeared.

Based on their campaigns to prospective customers to register interest and sign contracts, They have now got a load of personal information. Names , email, postal and physical addresses, contact numbers.

I hope this information is protected.
Anything could happen!!!!

This is really sad. Vumatel is who I'll recommend nextthough an area like mine would probably just accept Telkom in 2 to 3 years :(

So these guys still in business??
Who is using their service?
Any issues? Downtime? What's their SLA

Have been using them since last year, think i was the first customer they connected very very happy with it. Great product no shaping and any small problems they usually respond within a hour! I am on the top package, the 1gb local , What do you mean sla?

Yes still going at it behind the scenes. Even have a new fb page.

Thanks for the feedback. Where do you stay?
Have lines ever been down. What is the contention ratio?

SLA = Service level agreement. Basically do they call it "best effort" like Neotel and what is their uptime % and also what is their turnaround time when lines are down.
I would be using it for business and VoIP and can't afford to have a crap service.

I stay down the road from there head office in umhlanga. Contention ratio I'm not sure.

Had it go down once when they were working on the main line while they were installing it down the rest of the road, sorted within a hour, and another time it was something to do with there back haul provider think it was DFA if I remember correctly so out of there hands, was also sorted quickly. Once or twice in the first few months it might have gone down briefly, but I got hold of them and they sorted it out straightaway. Been stable for months now.

Uhm I don't belive so, there speeds are as advertised. I get 100mbps international up and down, local I have something weird with my router, if I plug the Wan cable into my pc direct i get 1gbps, but through my router I get 400mbps. Must be a settins thing, Not that I'm phased. I am sure if got them to they could help fix it. They Def make the point of getting the speeds they advertise when they install it.

Oh we also use it for work since our office is run from home, so it's vital it is up 24/7

Top speeds that..I'm sure buffering is not in your dictionary.
Do you use if for VoIP?
How much do you pay?
Where is their office?

I see that Link Africa beat them to it and is running cable all over Umhlanga in all the areas promised by 123Net-Pie-in-the-Sky

Also been on 123net since the start, stay like 100m from them, only had two planned downtimes and they were quick, never had issues with services and or shaping etc.

im on the 100mb package as well and its super! Netflix works like a charms, my gaming is perfect and everything else that goes along with it.

Seems they only managed coverage up to a few hundred metres from their office (?), a shame as they had so many people excited about their initial coverage, but dates came and went, again and again, without a word. Better to set targets which can be met or even 25% met, than set false promises. Also would have been better to have been transparent when they missed the targets, and apologised or even communicated with those whose details they harvested. They failed to create any goodwill with this disrespectful approach. Time wasters.

Yea it is sad..... they just stopped communicating everywhere, no reason given, just disappeared from the map. There was people who had contracts returned to them, and they just didnt reply to them at all.

Just had a look at their pricing. They are very very competitive.
