I'd say:
16:9 for gaming
16:10 for productivity
and both work well for media.
However, 16:10 1920x1200 can also display 16:9 1920x1080 resolution just fine but it wont work well the other way around![]()
just btw... HD is not new to computer screens... its new to TV...ur computer screen was most prob full HD a few years back....
A 4890 will be fine at 1920x1200
A few years back?
most of us were using CRT's back then man, how big of a crt do you need to display 1920x1080?

Sony had a 24" Widescreen CRT with max resolution of 2304 x 1440 @ 80Hz in 2004

Ok so after all of this discussion, still leaves me with this question
Im leaning towards 1920x1200, the Samsung T260.
I will only use the screen in its native res, will all my games be able to run ok?I have Windows 7 x64, Intel Q9550, 4GB DDR2 RAM, Sapphire 4890 1GB
For instance, Ive read here that some games dont have the high res of 1920x1200, only 1900x1080.
So if I play that game in the lower res, will I have black stripes, or will it stretch to fit the screen? What kind of quality loss am I looking at here?
