Like the OP: Does anyone know where I can find one of these cables that has the mini-USB plug on one side and two standard USB plugs on the other side, to provide the extra power?

Seems like my cable is starting to go faulty.
Does makro, incredible and game stock these?

If your USB port is 2.0 then one cable should be sufficient. If it's USB 1.0 then you'll most likely need the 2-into-1 splitter. What you really want is a nice USB 3 port which can provide 900 mA, versus USB 2's 500mA

If your USB port is 2.0 then one cable should be sufficient.

With some laptops you need 2x USB 2.0 ports as one does not always supply enough power. Desktops are usually not a problem.

I have spare Y cable I am not using here, since my hardrive works fine with one USB port on my laptop and Samsung TV.

Incredible Connection still sells them in PMB not sure about other places

Thanks guys, I would prefer if I can just go to a store and buy one instead of online. Perhaps matrix and hi-fi corp will have them. Makro only have the ones with one usb...
