2011 Super Rugby (Super 15) thread

Nope, changing fatboy sharks supporters who live with their moms is impossible.

I agree, why should we change and support the Sharks. This year round it is even more important, because now you are only really playing the teams in your own country. That is the only log that matters until we get to the later stages. So I agree, there is no way that I will support the Sharks or the Bulls. I will however support the Lions and Cheetahs when they play against the Sharks or the Bulls :))

lol, whatta chop ...... we don't need your support, I was just making an observation about what kind of chops you get in this country, specifically the cape supporters.

I bet you're one of those that support NZ against SA huh ;)

No, dude. You should support all SA teams when they play non-SA competition and it is actually more important this year. If SA teams win allot against overseas teams, it will mean our conference is stronger and that means 3 SA teams can make the super 6. Which means a higher chance of SA teams to take the trophy. I also support the stormers, but we shouldn't be so narrow minded.

Sonny Bill gets the book thrown out the window, completely missing him. Replace exact same incident with NZ victim and ZA player, and you'd be looking at time - lots of it!

Seriously, WTF????

Oh, and as for supporting SA teams blindly, I cannot go along with that. There are teams I enjoy watching, though not supporting, such as Sharkies and chiefs - really enjoy those games. There are others that just plain suck, including some of our own, and I do not enjoy their sport at all. So blindly supporting them is not on. However, wishing that they would lose just cos I think they suck is another ball game altogether. What kind wishes that Bulls would lose to say Aus team just cos they hate us? Think about it - and what Junky said. A successful season for any SA team, especially this year, is a good omen going into the WC.

I am not keen on Province, at all, but I would rather see them atop the log than an Oz or NZ team.

Agree. Apparently the citing officer did not bother as it was not a "red card" offence. Since when is that a criteria?

Also agree on the supporting of non-SA teams. Hell, I even shouted for the Cheetahs this weekend!!!!

Yip, the double standards... It's a disgrace actually, irks me no end. Come world cup we guaranteed to have at least one player banned for at least 2 weeks or more for some or other supposes infringement/transgression.

We hated the world over, Saffers are. I don't think I've ever watched an international sporting event played abroad where we were the crowd favourite.

Administrators and fans the world over dislike South Africans. Period.

Yip. I don't know what it is, but especially international ref's seem to really hate us. Jealousy? What?

We kind of do have a history. Hint hint Bakkies Botha etc. We have a tarnished image and we need to be clean for a while before they look differently at us. And the type of play that we do play is more physical so we have a higher chance of being cited, giving us a more tarnished image. It's a vicious cycle. No use in playing the victim card. It is one of the drawbacks of playing like we do.

The sharks are probably the least respected team in the country.
Every single time they lose, the cry cry cry about the ref.
Last year was so funny, was it 7 losses in a row? :D

Poor bastards. :(

Much better performance from the Cheetahs. Pity about the first half but what an excellent show of character to come back and almost snatch a draw.

Two positive words:
Sarel Pretorius

Little firecracker and only a fool would play him from the bench(previous games)!

Two Negative words:
Hawies Fourie

He must be the most useless backline coach in the history of the sport. Forwards always work their ass off and then the backs have no clue what to do with the ball. They are taught to kick everything away in training because Hawies has no imagination whatsoever!

/rant over

Sharks playing poorly again... centre field is still a problem. Oh well.

I reckon Potgieter is going to cost us a few matches with his kicking.

Hopefully next time the stupid admins will use their heads and see that saying no to exhibition matches is the way to go ..... that traveling hurt the team. Coupled with JLP's kicking, meh

Lol .... says "Advantage over", a Breezer talks to him and he overturns his own call for the Breezers ........ amazing reffing.

What gets me is the inconsistency of the ref when it comes to sealing the ball and then falling over the tackler, either when your player id tackled or when your opponent is tackled.

The rule is clear. You must be able to support yourself. Some of these players must have levitation superpowers!!!

/this is in general and not just this game.
