Hi guys,

Does anyone know how to connect one of these without the software? I tried a friend's vodacom/E220 combo, but the software doesn't seem to be happy in Leopard - when I click 'activate' it just maxes the CPU.

Leopards shows the E220 in network devices, also my ZTE USB modem. The ZTE is not network locked, but the software is. I got a vodacom sim with a 1GB data bundle (should last me the week). If I can make it work together that would be great. Using grps through my phone now - painfully slow...

mine is working great.... have you downloaded the mac dashboard?

Mac dashboard? I have the vodacom app "Vodacom Mobile Connect" - that's the only mac download I saw on their site.

The problem with the ZTE one is their software is sim locked (although the card doesn't seem to be).

I used the Vodacom app on Leopard without any problems. Just remember that you need to turn off the pin request for the sim card and then you don't need to use the Vodacom app other than to do the initial install.

I've recently had the same problem and I just wrote a blog post about fixing this. Click the link on my signature and it's at the top of the page.

Hope it helps, worked for me!

Thanks. That's what I tried, by the way. I don't get a "Network Port Configurations" anywhere though. My card is not the E220, as per my earlier post, but it should work the same.
