Does anyone know how to see what the usage is of 3g is.. instead of plugging the Sim in a phone and dial *147# to get the available balance.
I got the MR3420 and Cell C 5Gb Black one.
Doesn't cell c have it on their website? like Vodacom that you see available amount?

Doesn't the router firmware report on this - a la Tomato/DD-WRT?

Maybe not looking in right place.
Under the 3g settings. where you can view the singal strenth of the device? it only shows the current amount send and received.
the moment I disconnects it rests to 0

Open Cell C connection manager

Click on Services

Select Self Service from drop down menu (left of Send button)

You get the same menu option as on your phone with Sim card

Ya thanks that’s bit faster, but still will need to remove the modem from the router then plug it in at the pc.
My router and 3g is in the roof. got 98% signal strength.. so climbing in and out.. not my idea of exercise.

If you go back a couple of pages, they tried to get this option installed/upgraded on the routers, but the manufacturer declined.

So this option is not available at the moment, but I believe you'll be able to see your stats on the Cell C website in the near future.

That is definitely an issue for those that use this router on the roof.

Hey guys, I really am sorry that we we're not able to get the USSD support added, we did try, its sometimes difficult to explain to a big manufacturer the benefits of having features like this added to their product.

Will do the ceiling climbing once a week and near end of month just copy each connection status and add the number together, tnx excel..

No yet, but I think we need to be all on Cell c's case to get this up and running...

I can confirm the Edimax 6200n also works with Cell C Black E1820 stick (after ugrading the firmware to 2.20). Tried previously with the white 7.2Mbps, but did not work (only upgraded the firmware last night to 2.20, so "might" work with the E1752) - See http://www.edimax.com/en/support_detail.php?pd_id=312&pl1_id=3 - E1750 listed as compatable.

Picked up my TP-Link UC100 USB cradle this morning. Thanks kernel. Brought a work colleague with me who bought two Tl-MR3220s, so the marketing is working.
My TL-MR3220 works well with my Cell C 1820 stick. Bye bye ADSL!

I suspect the USB 2 cable/cradle is not compatible with the E1820. The cable causes detection problems on my laptop and also when using it with my MR3420 sometimes it loses detection and the router status changes to "identifying modem".

Just ordered my TP MR3220 router. I don't use wireless at all so there's no point in taking the more expensive one. I just hope this resolves my Cell C vs PS3 disconnect issue.

That you gonna need something like Netlimiter or ISpMonitor. The TP Link does not support the checking balance via the router.

Make sure the USB cradle is plugged into a highspeed usb port. The ones at the back of the PC.

The TP-Link USB cable works fine with my 3220 router and E1820 stick. The signal strength increased from 77% to 87% and the bonus is that two heat sources are now seperated I have the router connecting the 3G stick on demand and have had up to 3 wireless devices active simultaneously. No disconnects or throughput problems.

I also plugged the extension into my pc and it also worked fine. I wanted to see what 87% translated into in db and saw -55 in the Cell C tool diagnostics.
