8 Mb DSL

Not sure about the other lower speeds getting bumped up. Is there enough bandwidth/backhaul too go around? With all the 8mbit trials that went down did anyone atleast who was trialing it post in the fourms?

No help if the infrastructure is still up the creek...first put in infrastructure in the suburbs to support this then sell it to customers...I barely get 2mbit, our infrastructure is 40 years new. Any news on fibre to the curb for home users??

I can stream almost anything from youtube on my 4 MEG line ?? ive been trying to find a vid that wont stream or something that will prove my internet connection is not so fast but nothing yet

im happy for now

obviously not streaming quality video

try streaming live HD tv from the UK...

+1 trillion.
I would love 8mb but seeing i can just reach 2.4mb whats the point.
Stupid copper :/

Well not to make you even more bleak but it is advertised "up too 4mbit"
There are many happy 4mbit users out there

Wasn't there some website going around a while ago that would calculate the highest syncing speed of your line based on your current attenuation and SNR?

My router calculates that by itself

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin (dB): 20.7 8.0
Attenuation (dB): 42.0 19.0
Output Power (dBm): 12.4 8.3
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 10592 628
Rate (Kbps): 4096 512

Attenuation 35 dB
Noise Margin 42 dB
Your maximum line connection speed using an ADSL (up to 8Mbps) service is: 5568Kbps
If your service provider uses ADSL2+ the maximum line speed likely is: 13785Kbps
With ADSL2+ the maximum IP throughput (result from a speedtest) is likely to be around: 12199Kbps

w00t.... I should move to 4 meg ASAP.

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin 19.0 dB 20.0 dB
Line Attenuation 54.0 dB 35.5 dB
CRC Errors 0 0
Latency Fast Fast

think i can get a 8mb line when its out?
