Quick question
Is any one using the Huawei E353 modem on the 8ta network?

8ta rep are they compatible?

Hi hugo69er!

It should be compatible. The E367 works on our networks and they're both 3.75G modems. We will check with our device testers and provide confirmation.

the 2100Mhz WCDMA/HSPA is what you need.
It wouldn't however be a good choice to use with CellC as they primarly use 900Mhz WCDMA/HSPA & that modem only supports 2G speeds on that frequency.

Supported frequency is operator dependent. Regarding modems of the latest series (E367, E353, E352), there are many versions from four UMTS bands to a single band. Modems of these series sold by SA networks are AFAIK two band (900MHz and 2100MHz). Full model version is inside SIM compartment, by example E367 sold by 8ta is marked E367-U2 (perhaps it means UMTS 2-bands), SA frequencies for sure.

I don't want to correct 8ta, but it is not sure if E353 modem from unknown source will be compatible.

The modem does work with 8ta. Also works with the mr3420 router after a firmware update. My speeds have doubled and my ping has dropped by half as well. So on my side a router does make a difference.
