8ta speeds suck! Report here... [solved!]

Guess im not the only one suffering !!!!

Im a huge 8ta fan but I was playing online now and couldnt bare it anymore ran a speedtest and this is my result im always bragging with my 72ms ping and 6.8 down and 2.0 upload ??

WHAT went wrong

Im in the southern suburbs of Cape Town and ALWAYS had stable speeds with amazing ping

Ping is exactly like my post above. Welcome to reality, ding!

Well I tested it at 12:00am(Set my alarm), my connection had returned to it's old self. I just did a quick test now and it's still going strong. I take it for granted now it will be Ok until 6:00pm then it will revert back to the broken state, maybe until 12:00am again ?

Any one else been keeping a eye on the times as to when it seems to change over ?

Xera's ping seems to have still been the same in the early morning's so maybe my experience was a once off :)

Exactly what you are experiencing NSB. 6pm -12am every day now and for most of the weekend last weekend. High usage times I think, kind of points to heavy throttling is my guess during peak hours.

I have been having issues since Sunday and yesterday I got home early 3pm and started playing and noticed from 5pm my speed/latency started getting worse and from 6pm it was 1000+ latency no matter what I did.

Seems to be when everyone is at home and online.

8ta slow

MyBB must put this on the front page. People deserve to know before more people sign up for this nonsense.

Four days now and i'm using my vodacom sim card now. I have no problem on vodacom but it is costing me obviously.

Untill this is sorted out no-one should sign up for 8ta.

Have any of you actually tested the difference with your speeds when its clear skies and when its raining?
i can guarantee that some of your guys problems have to do with weather...

When I got home there was a huge thunderstorm with pelting rain and my connection was great. At 6pm when the storm had past and the weather was better I could not even surf the internet.

Ive said it before and ill say it again. My connection is basically dead when its raining. Totally opposite when sunny.

I have just sent them an email complaining about their network, etc. But that will probarbly fall on deaf ears.

I sent one too... If they blame it on the overcast, at least thats something... Better that the "eish" I've been getting up to now...

We are glad for you then. The rest of us have been experiencing ****ty connections for a long time, it's not the weather that's the problem.

they sent me a mail back wanting my physical address. So i told them that the whoe country has an issue not just my address. 2nd line support is going to call. Maybe they'll understand that it is there main rout that is an issue.

Mybb should do an investigation.. Go and interview some one...

Asked for my address as well... Its all good, if that helps them determine if the problems are experienced on certain towers or whatever. As long as they make some effort towards a solution!

I don't want to be this negative anymore. But the whole "please give us your address" thing is bull****. I have given them my address numerous times with promises that they will investigate, but it just doesn't help.

Well...I dont want to speak too soon, but it's 6pm and pings seems to be holding up nicely so far. 1st time all week I can use my internet at this time. Will keep a close eye on it.
