8ta speeds suck! Report here... [solved!]

I didn't test mine again this morning, but mine did not improve at all. 750+ ping right up until 2:30 am this morning. Jeebus 8ta, do you know how far you have to push a man to wish he had his dial-up back?

We deserve to at least know what is going on.
 
How on urf is that possible?! I tested mine in Pretoria last night and Im still getting 750ms pings... Not getting better!
 
Tried an update through Steam and surprise! Somewhat decent speeds (50kbps) ended in a reset connection and a crashed Steam.

So no Skyrim till that's fixed... :mad:

The little I could get from the attorney I spoke to (before having to pay legal fees.....) points me to the CPA. If they were as clever as Vodacom with their contracts it'll be a long fight to get out of the contract without paying them.
 
May i suggest some one starts a thread where u break down the areas where we live?
like i have seen overclocking threads where u get put into groups depending how high you oc...

Like for example if i am having a problem in sandton, and the next guy lives down the road from me and isnt having the same problem, we get put into the same group. That way we can see if it is the towers in certain areas that are congested or stuffed or what ever or u can see if they just throttling random people..

you guys understand what im trying to say?

Any 1 else in the south of jhb that had good speeds now on edge speeds? getting download speeds of bout 50kbs :(

50kbps isn't bad for 8ta, hugo69er. I'm lucky to get above 20kbps.

The idea of the thread was (and still is) to put all complaints into one thread and wave it in 8ta's face.

It is a good idea to post our area/suburb, major city (if applicable) and province. :)

can you tell us what the problem was?
 
I will have to check again when i am at home!! holding thumbs and praying!!
it sucks that everyday when i go home and wanna go online i have to first go to speedtest.net and pray that my speeds are ok.
starting to become a nuisance....

And i hope the debit order goes off! I dont think its my job to run after 8ta to pay them!

I managed to play one bloody game!!
And even at the end i got lag again.
In game it indicated that my ping was about 75
and when i checked the speedtest.net and after the game it was 700 or so...
Tomorrow will be a week.

Hi, man has just been flashing green the whole day and I have not been able to connect at all! Anyone else have this problem. My debit order should be going off shortly for the first time now since I got the contract, so hoping that it does.
