A week with Apple ...

Why would you ever expect any mobile phone to be 100% perfect? There's no such thing.
From the comments I'd read over the past few years.

It made it seem like what I had was a slow, clunky, 2nd rate device and iPhone was better in every single regard

Still no WhatsApp app on WatchOS and therefore still no way to get proper notifications or take calls.
To me, that's a huge flaw. I've never read or heard that it cannot do Whatsapp notifications (I don't care about calls)

Why are you buying prepaid through FNB and missing out on Clicks eBucks?
That's how I've always done it.

Isn't buying via FNB an online purchase though and I'm still getting? Is Clicks virtual through the app or something?

Was about to make this exact point.

@Dolby don’t be tempted to “multitask swipe” and force close apps.

There is no need for it, leave them all open permanently and let the OS manage it.

There is no task manager behaviour required from the use for iOS.

I have 108 apps open right now.
Ok - thanks for the tip. I always do it - but not really to speed things up, but to force it closed.

FNB remains with my details on screen if I just leave it. And then the app has logged me out in the background - so clicking on anything results in a dimmed screen with spinning wheel

Give it time. You are going to find wonderful things in unexpected places on your iPhone. All of the discovery doesn’t happen on day one. I’ve been using iPhone for years and I still have wow, they actually thought about that? Moments every now and then.

I like the phone - I really do.

I'm just disappointed with a few things and can't understand the reasons for others. Like you can sort albums in the gallery - but not the recent photos?

One of my questions that probably was missed earlier though, is how to set Gmail as a default mail app?

For example, when in 22Seven I needed to create a ticket. I click Contact Us and automatically it wants to open Mail. Is there a way to get it to open Gmail?

Settings > Gmail > Default Mail App

And if you have 22Seven, this is the issue I've been trying to describe

That bar graph at the top is clickable on the Android. If I want to see a list of May transactions that make up the R500.00, it's a click away (a click away, a click away) . On iOS it's a static image .

So here's a question developers :

Is iOS not more difficult to write apps for because of the closed nature ?
Are there things that a developer could want - that are just not possible in iOS?

Like I said earlier MyBroadband / Shelly / 22Seven / Snapseed all offer extra features on Android - but is it because the developer is limited on what he can do ?

Mine works fine? Thought it was a Safari issue but I'm on iOS 16 Beta. Maybe someone on iOS 15 can check but maybe try install the Chrome App and see if you get the same behavior

Had that once before but cannot remember if I ever managed to change it, somehow do not think so.

Could also (guessing) be the developer specifically calling the mail app instead of allowing default?

Yeah if in-app, Developer most likely doing it that way.

Edit : Nope. Gmail still opens on my side

Anything can do basic notifications and it does do that.

But actionable notifications (replying to messages) and stuff like calls etc require a native app.

Nope doesn’t count for anything on the FNB app.

Yeah Clicks all through the app. Pay my electricity and rates and taxes there.

Easy 15% back.
