A week with Apple ...

Couldn't have said it better myself. I have said before, nothing in life is perfect. One expect it to be, but it is not. Despite being a huge Apple fan, I'm not blind to the quirks or shortfalls. One doesn't always understand Apple's reason for doing certain things in a certain way, maybe there is method to the madness or maybe not, but it is what it is.

When I used a Windows PC, copying photos etc from my iPhone was always a pain. I've never used iTunes, but rather 3rd party software (i.e. Syncios) to copy photos or movies to and from my devices. Of course iTunes still need to be installed on the machine, though. It worked OK to some degree, but sometimes the connection would be lost, then I had to re-insert the cable and start from scratch (might have also been a problem with my Windows, I don't know)

Switched to MacOS and it's a dream to AirDrop things without any issues at all. The Apple ecosystem is unrivalled and a pleasant experience.
Absolutely agreed, and yep same here, I can fully accept Apple’s pitfalls and quirks, sometimes they annoy me sometimes you find that there is a method to the madness, other times they completely change how you use something for the better.

You mean Android doesn’t do that?

On this, I used to double tap to switch apps and copy. I agree the iOS way of doing OTP is better - but can iOS switch quickly between apps?

I used to love the feature when reading from another app

Yes. Just swipe left or right at the bottom of the display.

Interesting.

Are you able to acknowledge anything wrong or mediocre at all? If you really stretch yourself, can see that not everything is 100% super amazing?

I'm not sure if I fit in the club then. But maybe in time...
For example that 20w adaptor is about R400, and older cables don't fit in it. Used to be free in box.

what phone you had previously, android messages had that feature from 2018 and Samsung messages before that?

someone here had a problem with sending files to their PC I know Microsoft's Phone link doesn't support ios, have you tried creating a shared folder on your local network and using the files app to send stuff back and forth. Back in the day there was an app called Shareit it was a Godsend and the best solution to get past the whole apple nerfing Bluetooth on ios, sadly that app went to ****. There are alternatives such as Dell mobile connect and HP QuickDrop that you can use there's also Airdroid and Sendanywhere.Good news is that last year Intel acquired Screenovate, so expect intel PC'S to support ios pairing soon.

Yep, works fine with the native Files app and also the FE File Explorer app.

forgot to add

Also, Bluetooth works if you have a spotty connection

Itunes is always an option the irritating part about it though is the lighting connector, hopefully, the iPhone supports USB-c which will enable faster data speeds because you can't beat a wired connection airdrop is not the fastest solution as well.

And is there any way to get it to show notifications screen when I’m viewing Maps?

A WhatApp comes through and disappears

Slow but visual way is to draw the home bar up and sideways to see the apps.

Fast way is to slide it sideways, but then you need to know what the app was.

Also works in other apps like Safari on the address bar.

And just in case you didn’t know in most apps sliding in from the left edge is Back and the first edge is forward.
