Accelerit ISP review

This provider is to be steered clear of by any means!!!! They USED to have good customer service... No longer the case. I have been over weeks now been trying to resolve my upgraded 50/50 line but Im getting nowhere near those speeds. They are useless

I have been over weeks now been trying to resolve my upgraded 50/50 line but Im getting nowhere near those speeds.

Have you performed the test over a fixed line (not wifi)? Have you performed the test to multiple servers?
 
I Have used severl speed tesing apps. Tested via wifi and direct LAN connection via my Mibox. I for themost part do not even get half the speed I pay for... I see on both Acceleritand Frogfoot's facebook pages this is common. Disgraceful

Did you perform a speed test via speedtest.net while directly connected to the ONT with a lan cable?

I get most of the speed I pay for. Somewhere in the high 90th percentile. Same ISP and I am also on frogfoot. The main difference will probably be the location. Make contact with accelerit and get them to assist you in this regard.

Also remember that you are not paying for a 1:1 line but a contended line, so one cannot 'expect' your full line speed 24/7. Even on a 1:1 line one cannot expect to have a full line speed to every single service or speedtest available out there - that is simply not how the internet works.
 
They are a terrible ISP, their support is useless, they don't provide feedback, close tickets without resolving them. Worst experience with an ISP ever. They can't even process a cancelation

which is what you get for going with literally the cheapest isp out there.
 
I had a few issues when we started with Accelerit - mostly their subcontractor messing up our house wiring by boring a hole too close to another wire - but we've had few issues since. Accelerit came into our neighborhood long before anyone else would, and they laid their own infrastructure. They addressed our issues when load-shedding started, adding UPS to the server, and our speed has been excellent. Logging a call resulted in technicians being sent out and the call was resolved reasonably quickly. Also, no issue cancelling now that we are moving house (I phoned in). Overall, I can't complain too much about them, particularly for the price I've been paying.
 
Logged a ticket with them on Friday night, got a response about an hour later and they closed the ticket. Replied with some more info and they escalated it to Frogfoot that same night just after 9PM.

More than what I ever got out of e.g. Afrihost?

20% packet loss during afternoon and evening, so basically unusable. Cannot stream things like twitch etc.
Cannot play any online games.

Unable to change to another ISP as this is the only one i can use at my complex, otherwise i would have left months ago. (actually thinking of canceling and just going with mobile connection like Rain etc.)

Zero support.

Stay away from this company by any means possible

i would have done that after month 1.
 
Just to add to the long list of unhappy clients... I've been with Accelerit for 6 months (on Frogfoot). Initially things were great on my 20/20 line, but the last 2 months I've been seeing huge slow downs during the evenings (Less than 1mbps - can't even stream Spotify without buffering!)

Decided I'd try upgrade to 50/50 line and see if I got a better contention ratio. Alas that was two weeks ago and they still haven't been able to upgrade me. In that time my line went down for 24 hours (great when working from home...) and their support has been terrible - I get asked to do speed test again and again by various technicians, replies usually take 24 hours and they have this annoying habit of closing a ticket each time they've replied! They've basically got till the end of the month to fix it or I'm putting in my one months notice and moving to a bigger brand ISP.

So basically avoid them - the price is attractive but the suffering isn't worth it...

Just check usually such exclusivity only lasts for a few months and then residents are allowed to switch isp. maybe enquire with the FNO
 
If it didn't contain as much private data as it does, I would post my entire ticket log here and let people make up their minds for themselves.
 
My word of advise to anyone is stay very far away from this isp. Their pricing is very attractive but that's about it.

Endless problems, poor support and frequent disconnects. Rather spend that extra money and choose another isp for piece of mind and sanity.

Spoke to Die Main Konyn, a Mr Mandla Ngcobo: They are aware of the issues. CPT supposedly down.
@Frogfoot Fibre can you confirm any outages at the moment?

Any opinions of the ISP on the Vumatel network? Mostly reading on here with people using it on the Frogfoot network
 
Don't waste your time. I spent about 30 minutes reading reviews and I wouldn't touch them with a 10ft pole.

Personally, we use mind the speed. Better pricing and decent service. Only had two issues so far which was sorted out in under an hour.

Cool Ideas is also good from what I have heard. Haven't tried them though.
