ADSL Stellenbosch issues!

Yea It's back up. I still have only half my line speed but the internet does seem a little bit more snappy.

This is using the guest@telkomadsl account, but I get the same results with my 4mb and capped accounts.

TelkomZA says they have done some work on the problem and we should see an improvement. I'll let them know how things go for me tonight.

Update: As of 19:30 I had full performance and correct latency ranges for local servers. Normally over the last week or so I would have had 200-600ms by this time so it's looking fixed :).

Nope, still congested this weekend. My ISP package is unshaped over weekends and I get better speeds during weekdays when the account is shaped. Ai.
 
I'm also still experiencing slow (~1Mbps) speeds on my 4Mbps line.

The only thing that I'm glad for is that Telkom's congestion management is keeping the latencies low, which is great for gaming, but not so much for updating my games :(

I reckon I'm gonna log another fault with Telkom this week regarding congestion.
 
Today is the first day in weeks that I'm actually getting full line speed during the day. Usually I don't even get full line speed at night.
 
My ADSL is syncing correctly but I can't authenticate any ADSL account.
 
Yeah, we're having connectivity problems at the Stellenbosch Webersvallei exchange too, syncing normally, but can't dial. I was on a live chat with an Afrihost guy for almost an hour, he tried a few things including recreating our port, but nothing worked. We've logged a fault with Telkom.

Telkom fault tracking is down at the moment though :-/

My speed has been terrible since it came back online today, anyone else having issues after they worked on the lines today?
 
I've tweeted @TelkomZA today, because I'm sick of the DSLAM/exchange congestion that has been here since Oct 2013.
I'm currently staying in the top part of Die Boord.

"Fortunately" my latencies remain excellent, but I can only get 4Mbps after 04:00 in the morning and then it only lasts till 07:00!

A friend of mine, who stays in the bottom part of Die Boord, is currently experiencing very high latencies: 150ms - 1500ms.
So he also tweeted @TelkomZA.

We really hope something gets done to address these issues in Stellenbosch! I have much more confidence in the Telkom social media team than in the useless operators who just close the faults without a proper investigation!
 
So Telkom went and replaced my copper wire, because there was apparently noise on it. Low and behold, nothing changed in terms of my download speed!
After I had a discussion with the techies, they told me that they'll move me to another DSLAM/IMAX unit tomorrow morning - so I really hope that fixes my problem.

Same here. I was up all night last night and saw that my speeds only reached full speed at 4am and gradually fizzled out until it's back to 1/3 line speed in the afternoon.

It really is high ****ing time Telkom did something about this congestion. We've been struggling with it since early last year.
 
I don't know when this issue will ever be sorted out. :mad:

I'll get on Telkom's case next week when I have some spare time.

Ironically, we turned away a Telkom guy who arrived 3 hours earlier because our internet was working fine then.

Unfortunately the Telkom techies hasn't moved my line to another DSLAM yet and I haven't had the time to ask them either. I'll try to do so tomorrow.

It's sad that @TelkomZA didn't respond to me or my friend's tweets yet :(
Previously they were very fast via Twitter.
