Seems like it was an accumulation of points. Of course, it's not just the mods then - it's the RBP's that lead to infractions being accumulated.
Although, the mods then decide if the RBP'd post is worthy of an infraction.
*shrug*
I don't really care. I have been abrasive and confrontational in many of my posts. However, I have never received a single infraction. Moral of the story? Don't be stupid.

There is a difference between stupidity and a stupid post. Don't be stupid when posting is a pretty solid guideline. I am sure you will have an anecdotal example of an unjustified infraction, but I am pretty confident that all the mods on MyBB are rational people. The infraction system seems quite fair. You won't get banned for one single thing.
The infractions that were issued yesterday were justified. Getting banned from an accumulation of infractions speaks to a trend, doesn't it? Thus, that indicates the problem lies with the poster.

Those posts were not flippant. They were sexist and demeaning. Those posters probably made those posts to come across funny and get a rise. It backfired.

You asked if people who get infractions are stupid. My response is: No. Stupid posts get infractions. It is very easy to word a post that stays within guidelines, and does not come across troll like. Very much like a person can do something stupid, but not be stupid.

So, I got an infarction here for suggesting pole dancing classes.
Seemed a little over the top to be infarcted for a comment like that in O/T.
Anyway, to MJ's point, I don't really think I'm stupid, and more importantly, I'd have said the exact same thing to the OP or his "friend" in real life. I don't pretend I'm someone online and someone else in real life - that would be stupid.

Sorry Emjay, but that is not what you said originally. You said that the moral of the story was: don't be stupid - not, don't make stupid posts. And this was after you sort of being all chuffed about not ever having received an infraction.
And still, you are saying that everyone who has received infractions have made "stupid" posts. So, ipso facto, you have never made a "stupid" post. Good for you.
But you said Abzo never posted here. Even so, we were only talking about a single member. So, where did this assumption of multiple infractions come from?

Cannot recall if Abzo posted or not. There was two posts iirc, and I did't take note of who made the posts. If Abzo posted here, it is irrelevant. He got banned. The reason was most likely justified as the mods are not unreasonable.
