Bit disappointed in speedtest results both on Mybroadband and speedtest.net - getting less than 1 MB download on a 6263 kbps connection. Ping speed is brilliant though!

Afriman, did you guys honestly expect that you could move your entire network in one fell swoop without issues? Now you point a big swollen finger at Telkom? Come on! Don't insult the intelligence of people on this forum. If you had done ALL your homework you would have foreseen this issue.
Do you have any idea how pissed off I was this morning? I could not get online at all, so I couldn't see your tweets about changing over to the gamer ID, or even get into your control panel to see if there was an issue.
All I can say to you is this: I'm watching. If I don't have proper service by the end of the day I will ask for my money back for this month and I will find a different ISP.

I'm sure the revenue generated from your account will be sorely missed.
Things happen - it's IT... We all know that things happen even if you do all your homework.

That's why technology (cellphone and 3g) can assist you through the troubled times.![]()
Doesn't help that the signal on my iPhone, also courtesy of MTN, decided to give me the finger too with a bunch of "network errors" reported when I tried to get some sense out of what was going on today.

Afriman, when your network isn't working for me I don't really care who you point fingers at. I pay you to make it work. I don't want to hear IT geek sob stories about how this or that is responsible for your fark-ups. I never got any SMS from you lot until about an hour ago. Feedback on your FB page seems to indicate that there are a lot more unhappy customers than just me, so understand that as a paying customer I expect more in the line of customer service.
You dropped the ball. Just admit it. I don't know how you could have missed such an obvious problem, really?
@Afriman, Is there any issues that you know of regarding OpenDNS? 'cause my OpenDNS IP updater does not update at all. Would really like this to work.
I have noticed this too using DynDNS. Does not update.
There was nothing obvious or foreseeable about this morning's issue, and at the end of the day it was resolved, both temporarily and permanently. And please also acknowledge that there is a LOT of positive feedback and appreciation on facebook and twitter. Like I said, if you are unhappy, please say that, but suggesting that we were negligent and could have done more is simply not the case. There was information on MyBB, Twitter and Facebook since before 7am this morning, we've made every effort possible to mitigate an issue we could not have predicted or avoided.
Use / Don't Use - that's your choice. If you are trying to communicate that YOU are unhappy - well, that message has been received loud & clear.
Are you for real? You mean to tell me that you never thought to look into the capacity of Telkom to provide IP addresses for your new network before you went on a "rah-rah" campaign preaching to us all about how great it was going to be?
Well now, call me cynical but that's kind of like building a giant rocket ship out in the middle of nowhere without planning on how you're going to fuel it up.
Fail.
The only way to avoid this would be for Telkom to have changed their IP provisioning process - and I don't see them playing ball with that one.Funny how if this switch over was going smoothly this thread would not even exist. Yes, I agree there was issues that could have been avoided, however personally I think Afrihost handled the pressure quite well, and did deliver even with the hick-ups from Telkom.
