Afrihost - ADSL Disconnects and sync issues

My ADSL line suffers from sporadic disconnects and speed sync issues. I have a 10 meg line with 4 meg uncapped service through Afrihost.

From previously logging a ticket with Afrihost support, they indicated port errors, which led them to recreate the port on the ADSL line. This seemed to have resolved the issue for 2 weeks or so.

Where could these errors result from? Faulty Telkom infrastructure, ADSL modem or ISP?

I had an issue similiar to yours 2/3 weeks back,

I had a 10m line, and it dropped down to below 3mb with disconnections 4/5 times a day.

They sent out a Telkom tech, and was the problem was found to be internal wiring inside the apartment complex.

Do you have dialtone on your phone line? or noise on your phone line?
That could indicate an issue with wiring, not the port.

My speeds are now back to 10m and been like that ever since.

There is a dial tone, and at times some distinguishable noise is heard on the line. I replaced my POTS filter a few months ago, so that rules out the filter.

So the wiring needs to be checked. My Telkom line is handled by Afrihost, will probably log a fault with them to have this checked out.
