Afrihost - avoid this isp

So on Thursday I got my 384 line, decided to go uncapped and with Afrihost, activated, everything fine, gave them an empty account, the R108 owed bounced, oops, so paid them R116 with a credit card, cool, account re-activated, everything fine.

TODAY, on Saturday, the account is suspended, and R108 is AGAIN debited from my account, unable to reach Afrihost as they apparently don't offer support over weekends.

Groovy, sent them a mail to cancel this account, and make sure the R116 I paid them on Thursday be back in my account by Thursday next week or when they decide to get back to work.

Been with Afrihost for some time. Their service has always been good.
 
Why did you do this?

If you read on a bit, I paid for everything using my CC, why would they just disconnect my service again afterwards? You do realise I dont have any data service, and that they are supposed to be providing me this service for which I paid for? Or is that fine with you? Are you that much of a fanboy/employee?
 
Been with Afrihost for some time. Their service has always been good.

No fully im sure there are many happy customers, im just a very pissed one right now seeing as I paid them and yet my service was suspended AFTER being activated because I paid! This is terrible.
 
Still awaiting any form of feedback from them, or a callback from their SMS Support system.
 
So you messed up by giving them the wrong information?

You know, I sent Afrihost a link to this thread when I mailed them early this morning, at about 8:00AM, RIGHT after that, you posted, twice, then logged off, is this the sort of crap I can expect from Afrihost?
 
afrifail are a bunch of liars, they are right up there with WA in terms of bad service, dont know why anyone still gives gives clowns like WA and AFRIHOST money for these sub par, non uncapped services
 
Hehe, exact same thing happened to me and there accounts department is utterly useless. By far the most frustrating thing I had to deal with last year, but no more Afrihost worries for me!
 
Yep Africrap is useless, chances are high that Gians boyfriends are logging on and posting here in defense of their rubbish service.

Meh. I've been using Afrihost since their R29/Gb deals launched. I've never had a reason to complain. This doesn't mean that others won't ever have bad experiences with them... it happens. But it's also just normal human nature for people to defend entities they've received good service from.

This episode seems to have been triggered by an initial debit that could not be serviced. It probably threw the billing system out of whack somewhere, which is at least understandable if not entirely excusable. I'd live with it until Tuesday, after the long weekend. I'd be rather surprised if it isn't sorted out quite quickly once everyone's back at the office.
 
saffakanera what you have run into in this thread is the Afrihost fan boi club. I am not sure if they are paid for the service, but they seem to seek out every opportunity to defend said company.

I too had *** service from these **** some time ago. Don't create a "hate thread" though, even for valid complaints

Why not do what other MyBB members have done when they had issues with Afrihost?

I header he is out of country. I also had a lot of problems with their billing system double invoicing and double debit orders and then best of all double charges to my CC, then they say i still owe them money, but i already paid for almost a years worth of uncapped. Moved to Mweb Business Uncapped with 10mb unshaped and no looking back at these oaks.
