Yeah, but you learned about Telkom timeline's last year already. Blaming them is wrong. You did the typical:

Not mention that in the SOUTH, we waited months for the previous upgrade, only to get 20% of what was ordered - what happened to the rest????
I guess that's what is being put in place now... only thing is, "IT'S NOT GOING TO BE ENOUGH"

This cycle will keep repeating itself because AH AND MTN have "not learnt a thing!"

I am still of the opinion it was never upgraded, but we always get the standard answers. Must be terrible for these support chaps. Wonder how many of them actually use Afrihost?

"23 October 2014 16:00pm Our North IPC has been upgraded and we’re currently monitoring and calibrating the network for optimal performance. We expect users to have a much better experience overall, but there may be some periods where our technical team are testing which may affect performance over the next while. We sincerely thank clients affected for their patience over this period."

That explains the very erratic speeds then.

So, tomorrow is D Day for me and Afrihost.
If it turns out well tomorrow, I will most likely stay on a while. If not, bye bye.

My line died about 30 min ago. No amount of rebooting the router or trying other ISP's is helping. I hope Afrihost hasn't cancelled my line since I requested it go back to Telkom and my DSL account be terminated. Kind of weird that it died at midnight.

My TI account also died at midnight. Coincidence? I think not!

Too bad. Already cancelled, they can go and f*** themselves

My Cancellation will stay cancelled.

10% of line speed on NNTP. 100% on speedtests. Evidently there is still management going on.

Got excited about decent speeds and then it just went downhill from there.

Gaming performance is still dismal. 1000+ ping in Diablo 3 and still seeing packet loss on the pathpings, although the packets now seem to reach more hops.
