This is what my line does with all those restarts you see Afriman, finally caught it. Line stats say perfect but it just dies...

Speed tests always seem to show better results than actual sites. I still think these speed sites are designed to show best results.

I am getting significant buffering on our office connection as well with Youtube. Are you experiencing issues with any other streaming services?

I can test the links you're using for you. As far as I know traffic should be working pretty normally, though we're still seeing some peak demand periods, especially around 8pm in the evening. Our guys are working on getting the best performance from the network at that time. Otherwise you should be getting pretty much normal performance.

You'll need a MSDN subscription license to download from the site though.

The app is the Microsoft File Transfer program, it is making a HTTPS connection (3 of them) to 94.245.114.217 for the download.
Running at 400KB/s at the moment on a 20MB line. When I started the app it was full 1.9MB/s and then dropped down to this a minute or so later. Been that way for the last hour.

PLEASE fix Youtube. I can't even stream 240p properly yet I can get 350KB+ from downloads on a 4Mbit line.

Youtube is always off and on dodgy.

Downlaods OK, Skype OK, other streaming sites mostly OK but I mostly only use Youtube. When I do get links to watch from saty, Vimeo they're usually always fine.

I don't really use any other streaming services. Tried Pluralsight, but that seems OK.

Latency is normal here. Speedtest reports full line speed. And downloads running 100%, but YouTube is buffering on every video....

There should be someone with a subscription who can download the file for me and test throughput. Send me the link for now and let's see what I can do.

Otherwise if you have a regular file download to test basic throughput might be quicker to test and report back.

Loaded pretty quickly for me on a capped account, but I know we had some poor performance on some streaming services. We're looking into it, so let's test this again this evening

We usually have pretty good YouTube service, but last night did seem to be a bit off. My tests weren't that great either. We're reporting this to our network team with our test results for them to investigate further.

I had a very similar experience. We're definitely going to look into this

At some point late last night YouTube streaming improved, but this morning it's back to buffering.
As a developer there is a lot of content I need to access for work, not entertainment. Really frustrating!!

Is this a priority for Afrihost to sort out, because it seems that this is really a recurring problem?

I have a question about Afrihost Plus+
I see no benefit for Business Uncapped User only for streaming pay 99 Rand

Last couple of days my 10Mb business uncapped has been a bit dodgy. As stated in previous pages, youtube sometimes even buffers on 360p.

Here is a download link that should be at least 1MB/s, but is only coming down at between 500 and 700 KB/s: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9842997

And a paid usenet account which was doing a solid 1MB/s no matter what time of the day before, is only going around 700 now.

The cumulative speed of a few things going at once results in some full-line-speed-peaks, but generally it seems my line is roughly limited at 700.

Only 4 days left of my 8MB Business Uncapped account before moving to another ISP, but in the last week I have been able to at least use the "uncapped" part of the account.

Line is flying for me in the Sandton area, literally hitting 1MB/s on the neck on a single threaded download.

Plus+ also includes 500MB of Mobile Data that you can either have added to an existing MTN Contract Sim card, or we can ship you a new sim card with the data loaded onto free of charge.

The value of Plus+ goes up if you have any Mobile Data packages on your account as well.
