Hey guys, compliments of the season to all....just a quick question, got a call from a MWEB consultant asking if I would like to switch over to MWEB....When asked who is my current provider, I said AH and then she said "did you know that MWEB has now taken over AH and AH uses MTN's network?" Is this true? I thought MTN has taken over

Definitely not.... MTN bought a controlling share, but MWeb definitely did not purchase any part of Afrihost. As far as I know Internet Solutions bought a part of MWeb. :)

I heard IS was buying Mweb business, so I think that sales rep has it wrong.

Strange that you aren't seeing the spike in latency in the traceroute. Could you please send me a PM with your account details so that I can have a look to see what is going on.

I have the exact same problem here in Cape Town.... speed tests show my latency to CT at 40ms (normally 10ms) and to JHB as 33ms. Trace route shows no issues.

I have also not had any feedback for weeks to my open ticket [#ZUT-865-94656] - still getting packet loss and periods of unresponsiveness. I have supplied all tests requested, and even highlighted where the fault lies on the network. It appears that the software on the ESR at the exchange is not routing packets correctly... my physical line is perfect, but ping tests seem to pick up an Hewlett Packard IP address, instead of the AH/MTN IP range. This ONLY happens with AH accounts, and even the Axxess account works fine.

When will this be sorted out? Been having these issues for months, have submitted many tests, and saying that there is nothing wrong in Cape Town, is just NOT true.
