Over the last 2 weeks ( since Telkom came out for a fault we logged) my speeds have been good - averaging 3,4 mbps any time of day.
Last 2 to 3 days I have noticed a difference - today being the worst, since i got home at about 3:30 - even tried a port recreate using cz ( which was successful) but didn't help at all.

I have had endless problems with my port at the exchange when there is a storm and the last time during load shedding. I will pm you my account info so you can look into the history (if you would like). Just hope it isn't the port again. FFS.

For what it's worth - we haven't had load shedding or any storms over the past 2 weeks (as far as I am aware).

I just completed a Port Recreate on your ADSL line, would you mind restarting your modem once more then testing the connection again.

I have done a speedtest:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 2026 kbps (253.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 421 kbps (52.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 53 ms
2/12/2015, 7:48:30 PM

Only a slight improvement.

Something I have noticed - while it is testing the download speed, it sort of stops and goes, stops and goes.....

Lovely.....

And another speedtest done 3 minutes after the last one.....

Last Result:
Download Speed: 958 kbps (119.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 430 kbps (53.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 59 ms
2/12/2015, 7:51:23 PM

And a test done 4 minutes after the last one......

Last Result:
Download Speed: 2483 kbps (310.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 427 kbps (53.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 59 ms

:(

I definitely think we are going to have to open a fault for the line, the line itself is definitely performing well below where it should be.

Ooi. Ok. Will you be able to do that as AH manages my line?
If Telkom should need to come to my premises, please can you instruct them to call first and not just arrive?
There aren't always people at the house.
Thanks for your assistance.

And the fault is logged!

I've have appended your contact details, Telkom should let you know as soon as the Tech is sent out.

I would post a tracert if I could open the mybroadband page on my pc, using my phone to type this

Has anyone else been experiencing issues this evening, since around 8pm? Currently getting 2mbps on a 10Mb line, and Battlefield 4 pings are up to over 1000 ms. Browsing has also become very jerky, and most pages take a long time to load.

Same problem here, thought it was just me... Afrihost support assured me it was not my account, logged a fault with telkom.... I am not even getting 2mb on my 10mb account...

No issues that I know of in the East at the moment. Demand is well within range of available capacity and speeds should be good.

At the moment I only know of a problem in Overport, but Telkom does seem to be doing major maintenance and upgrades all over. I don't see anything major listed for KZN right now though :(
