IPC's are probably congested again. Proudly brought to you by Afrihoax.com

That escalated quickly :(

Our IPCs are definitely not congested, we've invested a lot with MTN in making sure we have more than ample capacity for the coming period, and we're doing very careful planning and monitoring to ensure that we smooth out the creases in IPC capacity problems. Obviously there are going to be challenges that come up, but I think we'll get better and better at handling them. So let's see what happens when iOS arrives, etc. I think we'll be more prepared as we learn from our past experiences.

:(

That's not cool, especially since we aren't even close to using the Southern IPC to its fullest.

Would it be possible for you to post a speedtest and possibly a traceroute? If there any issues we definitely need to look into this.

That's a pretty strange one. It could be related to a DNS issue, depending on how you have configured your DNS. We'd need to look at the stats you're reporting and how you are drawing that data. Generally speaking it's not normal for everything except a certain downloader to run at different speeds. But I have seen issues where torrents and skype run where other services are dead - usually due to DNS.

Are you connected using anything like passthrough or any unusual router configurations?

Any feedback on my response?

There's definitely no form of shaping at all on our Business Uncapped accounts.

Do you have the username of the Business Uncapped account on-hand? Would it be possible to PM it to me.

Could you also please ask your IT guy to post those results once he is able to.

Are you referring to assigning public IP's are IPv6? Our network is already setup and working well with IPv6 :)

Hmmm...

In order to use public IPV6 addresses, Telkom's network will need to IPV6 compatible or capable. Remember that we supply Telkom with our IP range and then they assign IP's to new sessions based on the username (assigned to a realm like @afrihost.co.za or @axxess.co.za). I don't believe there has been any ETA on Telkom making their network IPV6 ready.

Well this is great. I can't send mail using Afrihost's FTP server suddenly. I've had to send some important mail from my Gmail address, which is rather unprofessional.

I'm not sure if you mean SMTP here (or if you're sending mail in a weird way I don't understand). Have you tried to telnet into smtp.afrihost.co.za on port 25?

Also try using smtp.mtnbusiness.co.za if you need to get an urgent solution for now.

Sorry. Meant SMTP. I've sent the mail already, but I'll try that out if I still have issues later.

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this but I noticed something. Yesterday before Afrihost had their 'issue' On my home Laptop My wireless and with cable plugged in was working fine.

Straight after the issue was resolved but wireless works but disconnect my wireless with my cable plugged in, it doesn't show any connections.

I wasn't aware of any general issues yesterday.
Sounds like there may be a router mis-config here - does rebooting help the problem?

Yeah, when I phoned in automated message said there was authenticating issues

Nope rebooting doesn't help.

*Edit do you mean resetting the router or restarting it?
