Google is dead . It is becoming impossible to work with Afrihost . New story everyday . Canceled

Okay, in terms of available IPC capacity, there are definitely not any issues at the moment.

I panicked for a moment as a I saw a significant drop in demand in both the North and South at the same time at 17h00, and I immediately assumed something went wrong. This however corresponds with when Eskom initiated Stage 1 load-shedding almost to the minute.

If you are online and have power at the moment you are obviously not being loadshedded, but your Exchange may be in an area that is, and so there may be an increase in latencies.

Google is not working . What is going on

Are you able to access Google services specifically or is it all HTTPS traffic?

Could you run a traceroute to one of the Google services please.

Which DNS servers are you currently using?

Ah!

I think I found the issue affecting your P2P downloads.

Business Optimization is currently enabled on your Business Uncapped account, this will shape any P2P and HTTP downloads. You can disable this feature from your ClientZone, under Connectivity then by selecting your Business Uncapped account from the list.

This should unshape your account and get you up to speed within 15 minutes!

This really irritates me. Over the past few days, I have been having issues until I found this thread and disabled that ****. You people think you're smart turning **** on behind the clients back.

Something Very Wrong with my Torrent Download...

3 Torrents with over 10 000 seeders..
It only Spiked for a Sec, then been throttle to hell again..
What is going on .. This is suppose to be Business Account??

google completely dead and torrents too. I'm guessing this is partly due to the exchange being in an area where there's load shedding?

Not sure... We definitely would not activate Business Optimization at any point unless requested to by the Client.

We've had quite a few Client's with issues with Google today, and it was either Chrome that was doing something strange, and switching to a different browser immediately resolved the issue.

Or switching the DNS to 196.7.7.7 and 8.8.8.8 on the ADSL modem also helped.

should I switch the DNS on my router?

Yes please!

That will help in figuring out if it is a DNS or routing issue.

okay so this is what I've figured out.

With my DNS on automatic - Google on Chrome struggles but on Firefox works fine.

When I switch my DNS to the one you suggested. Chrome still struggle but Firefox works fine.

Also are where my exchange is doesn't have load shedding.

So could it be be an issue with Chrome?

Edit is the same with youtube. Works on Firefox but not on Chrome.

And Torrents also dead.

I think there is wider-issue with Chrome at the moment, we're trying to see if we can find anything out from our side about.

Could you check if your Business Optimization is enabled at the moment?
