Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback - 2

Also had issues last night with my Afrihost Business package. Same story as last week; would be playing LoL and at about 6pm, all would be fine, but the later the evening went, the higher the ping went. Started at 200ms at 6pm, then it went up to around 400ms when it was 8pm. Been having this the whole of last week and now last night as well, so I assume this is a usual thing.

Will grab some tracert's and speedtests tonight for reporting purposes. But in the mean time, I suppose I'll need to use my WA trial account to play games with :/

LoL is definitely a service that we have signatures for, and you should not be seeing any issues with LoL. The fact that you are is worrisome.

Does the latency on your connection increase as well, or is it specifically just LoL that is affected?

We definitely saw high latency at that time in the South on the network, so we'll need to keep working on bring the peak latency down when demand is at it's highest :(

Ok, but how does this help my problem, this has been ongoing for weeks now. its madness that I cant even download Windows Updates, most of these files are small, the Windows 10 update was 300kb. if your network cannot handle a download of that size, then you have serious issues. Odd that I can download torrents at full speed??

If your P2P downloads are running at full speed, then your updates should be running at full speed as well. Are the Windows 10 update downloading from the default Microsoft servers?

It seems to be the connection as well. When starting out in the evening, my Teamspeak ping is about 20-30ms, but towards the end of the evening it's at 160-200ms, indicating that it's not just LoL struggling with the latency. I didn't try last night, but last week if I switched to my WA trial account, things would be back to normal, so it doesn't seem like it's a line/exchange issue.

Would you be able to run a traceroute when you start noticing that the latency increases? It will help me significantly in figuring out where the latency is being introduced.

Yup, I'll do so tonight and post them here :)

Windows 10 doesn't seem to have an option to change the servers you download the updates from, so I am using what ever defaults it uses. But I have issues updating Windows 7, Windows 8, 8.1, Windows Update takes forever to download the smallest updates.

I'll need to check if there is a local cache server with those updates, but if your downloads are running as they should, there should be no reason for your updates running any slower.

speeds are down the crapper again today

What sort of loss of speeds are you seeing? Which services are affected at the moment?

That's not cool at all!

At the moment it seems certain services aren't running as they should, we're looking into this ASAP, there should not be this much variance in speed amongst services.

this is becoming a not worth it anymore problem do you have a test account we can try before we decide what to do
can just about get to mbb now
