Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

I think its safe to assume that Afrihost did NOT expect the hordes of people signing up for Business Accounts to download so much stuff. Well that is my opinion anyway

Demand simply seems higher than the bandwidth available

I can't even get them to explain the pricing structure on business .....
Damn, did I just sign up the wrong time??

Afrihost Business hasn't been able to stream 720p in the two weeks I've had it, download have also continually fluctuated from about 1/3 line speed. Support is terrible, virtually not existent, and there is no way I'm paying a premium on a 10MB product and waiting weeks for it to get sorted.

Thats why I'm now looking for a capped connection.

The problem is MTN and their international connectivity if you follow all the threads.

Hence me suggesting Web Africa Business which is IS based.

What I don't get though, is on Afrihost Mobile, I can do things I can't do on Afrihost Business, like stream video, but besides their issues - the support remains terrible.

Mobile bandwidth probably receives highest priority?

Something is definitely not right - I don't know what it is - but I've never experienced bad service from a business account :/ something must be seriously broken somewhere :P

Got a response to my ticket re: cancellation for bank details to payback via their double money back guarantee - I specifically stated I only expect what I paid in my initial ticket,. *shrug*

Looks so:

It's crap that we had to find out about it via Axxess though. Afrihost wasted so much time troubleshooting.

While Axxess does use the same network there are some key difference in how things are run and managed. I'll chat to our team around this, I've been in touch with a few guys around the issues being brought up here.

Afrihost, what the hell is going on with your business accounts?!

Torrents on business, given 10 minutes to get going:

Torrents on capped, also given 10 minutes:

I thought these accounts had identical priority on the network? I also tested with my free Web Africa 1GB account and it performed the same as the AH capped account.

Odd.
Would you mind PM'ing me your account details so I can have this escalated and investigated on our end.

Murphy's law - as they seem to be busy with my cancellation - the account is performing fine.

It appears they're routing traffic through another IPC. (I'm open to correction on this) It's not quite back to normal levels, but it's a lot better.

We aren't doing this from what I'm aware of. Are you able to post a traceroute to verify this?

Basing the theory entirely on the fact that I am (a) getting almost full line speed again and (b) appear to be identified as being on the East Coast via IP geolocation. If you've changed nothing your side - perhaps this is a clue to what's happening? Yesterday the account was almost dead, and geolocation had me pegged as Cape Town, correctly. Today things are almost back to normal. Is this possible?

It is possible yes, the network isn't static - it changes all the time.
We don't/ won't/ aren't routing through a different IPC :)

That sounds like a problem though - I connect on one IP range, and Bus Uncapped performance is dismal - then connect later on a different one, and am getting the promised speeds. That's way too much of a pot luck situation - not worth investigating?
