Anyone have any issues with the speed just drops every few minutes to snails pace making even browsing impossible, it comes back to normal speed again after couple minutes but then slows down to non existent again. Been happening since yesterday and today I've noticed it a bit too so far (but only during the day) Will keep checking it to see if it continues.

You're always welcome to private message me your username and we can have a look at your line/connection.

Still having odd speed issues. Speedtest shows fantastic speed, but then opening www.iol.co.za the page takes a while to open, this happens to a lot of other sites as well. Have to stop the browser, and then refresh. Videos on Supersport are still pathetic. Critical Care (Afrihost support) gave me a test account, this worked 100%, no issues with pages loading, no issues with the videos. I later found out that this was a SAIX test account. I then got another test account on the Afrihost network, and this also had the poor speeds. So the issue has to be with Afrihost then. Telkom, have tested my line, checked the exchange and no issues were found, and this can be verified when using the SAIX account. Odd thing is most downloads are getting reasonable speeds, but I don't spend all my time downloading.

Hi, I'll ask our team to get in touch with you again and try find a solution. In the meantime, if you can send a mail to the tech who helped you, I can follow up with them.

I have emailed them all the tests they asked for. Now we are going into a long weekend, and I am still having issues. This issue was first reported 24 July, this is really taking too long to resolve.

I know they were looking at your mails this morning. Sorry it's taken this long to reach a resolution

Hi Afrigirl/Afriguy

I am coming to you guys as a long shot. I am on a 2meg business uncapped account currently and I have terrible streaming experiences with Twitch.tv (The huge Dota2 event is on right now and I have not been able to stream it)

Now my streaming from other services is ok, (I would give it a 7/10 on YouTube/Vimeo/Liveleak/ustream etc)

However Twitch.tv is a solid 0/10 stutters even on 240p for 10s of seconds rendering it unwatchable.

I was wondering if there is something on your side that could be done or looked at? It is a long shot but I don't know why im getting such bad twitch experience.

I can stream up to 480p acceptably on the Twitch Dota 2 live coverage. I have a 4Mbps Afrihost business account. Considering that 720p works fine on Youtube, it's still not amazing, but at least it's perfectly watchable.

I can agree with this statement, although mine is slightly better - 360p is fine, however anything above that stutters - considering my mate is on a 50GB account with afrihost and streams 720p absoloutely flawless.

*4mbps - business uncapped.

I have been having trouble on my 10mb uncapped account.

Just the random slowdowns, and glitches.

If I use a different account (TI) - no problems.

Can you confirm if there is a problem, or is it time to jump ship again.

Afrihost business account seems to be working really well today for some reason. Normally its a bit slow in kloof here, but today its clear. Not sure why its magically working so much better all of a sudden.

Hi,

Had the best luck this weekend, at 13:20 (on Saturday 10/08/2013), some bright Telkom Tech was busy with the Telkom box outside out house, we lost ADSL and our phone line. He was adamant that we would have ADSL and telephone. I had to go out. Got back at 17h00, and I have no ADSL, and telephone is totally dead. Call Telkom, no joy, wait until Sunday, call again, no joy. All I got was a very unhelpful and rude person on the phone telling me there must be a fault and I must just wait until they decide what they will do about it.

I pay Afrihiost of the ADSL line, is there anything Afrihost can do about this. I did call support this morning, but they claim they can only escalate the issue in 48 hours?? I cannot wait this long!

I am getting frustrated with my office hours speeds with my current ISP and am thinking of switching to Afrihost Business Uncapped in the hopes that I don't suffer frustration during office hours with simple stuff.

Please could someone that uses this package during office hours give me an idea on their experience? Unfortunately Afrihost won't give me a trial account to test with so I can't see for myself before making the switch. I do recall a while back that someone said use a standard 1GB capped account and see as they work the same but I am skeptic of this. Should I be?

I just need to know that SQL Server connections to remote servers won't time out, remote desktop connections are usable, web browsing is zippy and my email (Google Apps) comes in same time as my phone and not 15 to 30 minutes later.

After hours the family uses Netflix and Hulu+ as we no longer have DSTV. So I can clock up quite a bit of usage in a month and would like someone to verify that I will not be throttled for any reason. And do these 2 services stream without issue on Afrihost Business Uncapped?

Business Uncapped is constructed exactly like a Capped Account (like a Free GB) account. We don't impose any additional structure, except for the speed rate limit according to the product which you purchase (i.e. 4Mbps, 10Mbps, etc). So it would actually be a fairly accurate comparison if you're account speed matches your line speed.
