Mod_note: These threads are clearly designed/intended for customers to provide feedback to their respective ISPs - not for disgruntled former customers to vent, not for other ISPs to promote their services, etc - and, one hopes, for the relevant ISP to respond.

So, we should all be good to carry on????
We are ALL CURRENT CLIENTS - not former clients... and nobody from other ISP's is in here promoting their products. :p

:wtf:

Why even bother to post that?

What would you suggest as an alternative?

Must I spell it out for you? I've given various options.

Get a temporary realm on another provider's backbone (SAIX/IS) on it's own IPC and transit, give us accounts on there, and carry the costs thereof... It's NOT rocket science...

I would just like to know more detail about the redundancy plan you briefly mentioned in this thread a good couple of pages back. You said that measures have been put in place so that the current situation will never happen again. I am a tech-head so i would just love to know more detail about this for interest sake.

I think discussing this rather than the problems at hand will possibly clear the air a bit and possibly re-assure current clients.

:)

I don't think I can help you here, and by the sounds of it this direction is not going down well for the rest of the forumites in this thread.

I suggest we resolve this offline, and I'm pretty sure we can do so very quickly.

Perhaps its time to take an additional step and create an IPC AH CT thread.

So that this thread can return to just feedback. Besides... then everything is in place for reference sake and you don't have to siff through this thread. Just a thought.... and of course it will draw more attention than being in here.

I second this notion. The constant whining is absolutely tiring.

Oh thank god!

TBH guys, I have been hating on Afrihost, but when their network works, it works well.

My two cents....

UPDATE 15h00 7 April 2014 We’ve confirmed with MTN that the latency on the network is due to a technical error on the North IPC, affecting only a small percentage of our capacity. Our engineers are now working with Telkom to resolve the fault, and normal performance will be restored as quickly as possible. We thank affected clients for their continued patience.

We are currently receiving reports of high latency in the North region (Johannesburg, Pretoria and other related areas). For affected clients this may also result in slow DSL speeds and some packet loss. Our engineers are currently investigating the cause of the problem, and we hope to resolve this very soon. We apologise to all affected clients for any inconvenience this may cause.

WTF this sucks, can't game to save my life right now, getting horrible ping in BF4.

Guys please stop complaining about the service, you account will get canceled which has happened to mine, I am now phoning their accounts department and will keep you posted.....

So apparently Afriman, AfriPeople can just cancel you account, @Afriman I have re-activated my account.

I do not see how me expressing my views on a open forum is grounds for cancelation, cancelation which I opposed.

This is interesting, my account all of a sudden is running exactly half my correct speed, its like its been limited on purpose.
