I think most of the thread here on MyBB would just like to move on to the next issue. Like I said, happy to chat to the three or four of you pursuing this via PM, but I think we've really dwelled on this issue for long enough.

I am glad you think its only 3 or 4 of us.....

Why should we move it to a pm?

This is an issue that everyone MUST see, publicly.

Everyone needs to know that if you speak up and raise your concerns, that your account can get cancelled.

Watch our the AfriPolice will cancel your account for this....

I dont see how this is an abuse of the forum. The 2 parties are in discussion about an ongoing issue that is getting heated. If the user is not happy with the product he can go somewhere else. Its his right as a consumer. It is also Afrihosts right as a provider as to who they deal with and as another user who came to this thread for an issue which Afriman assisted. I could see where this was heading. Afriman is here to assist with queries and provide us an extra level of 1st line support which he does. You forget this is 1st line support and you are not speaking to a director of the company.

We are told that there is an issue repeatedly and we are told by Afrihost management that the eta to this being resolved is the 10th of this month. How many more times must they say this

There was a great deal more to this debate than an eta. Read it.

Can you please step away from the keyboard now? You are really pissing some of us off here.

The network fault has been resolved and everything is working fine.

About your account: You could have just PM'ed Afriman the whole time to avoid your account being suspended.

I have pm'd him, and said I will stop complaining, but he still thinks it best. What network fault? The IPC? is it live?

I have read most of it. Pages after pages of anger. Most of it going in circles and none of it helping the situation. This isnt a place to vent this is a place to come ask for assistance and that is not what was happening. I for one feel like the reps were getting abused. My own opinion as someone who was following this thread. You have an opinion as do I.

It only makes sense that any company can draw a line somewhere and say enough is enough. Our purpose here on the forums is to inform and to assist, not to get into mud slinging matches and try to out talk or out smart others. We give you the facts and you choose how you'd like to act on that information. It really should end there and not become a shouting match that lasts several hours (or now days in this case). Ultimately what you are really doing is drowning out the feedback of other clients who are wanting feedback on other issues, detracting from the real purpose of the thread. Much of this conversation could have been dealt in a PM, or avoided entirely so that other's can get the assistance or feedback they need on more pressing issues.

Ok - so let's get into that. Essentially, you are now saying "we've had enough, if you're not happy f-off." That's fine and dandy, and again, it shows the maturity of your company (and yourself as, presumably, a representative of that company). The purpose of a forum is to DISCUSS topics - whilst you as an individual may not have much more to say, we as your customers still have plenty to say!

The last time I checked, MyBB is not a formal channel of support, nor an extension of your support desk, nor a proper valid channel endorsed by Afrihost in order to receive support. Frankly, there is nothing 'official' linking Afrihost to this thread and/or to myBB other than you personally having a status as a "forum representative" which can be obtained by anyone (http://mybroadband.co.za/news/company-representatives). But again - let's not make this about myBB, this is about Afrihost.

On the 31st of May, I have logged a support ticket asking for your postal address (as I was unable to find it on your web site) to take this matter private and to take this matter further in terms of official written communication. Your support desk was so kind as to delete my support request without even bothering to respond. I therefore have no alternative but to discuss this in public, as your company does not want to provide me with a postal address. Yes, I can discuss this with you via a PM, but what prove do I have of 1) who you are, 2) that you are even employed by Afrihost, and 3) that you read, understand, and take appropriate actions based on my requests. As a company that lost all credibility they had, your word is unfortunately no longer good enough for me, neither do you have any authority to make decisions, and lastly there aren't trust left. BTW - are you now going to close my account too??

I will thus now kindly ask you in public, to supply me with your postal address and contact details of your legal advisors / department, after which I will now revert to written communications between myself and Afrihost via registered mail. we can then collaborate and determine what will happen in terms of refunds for your appalling service.

Afrihost has shown that there ISN'T and respect. They do NOT respect us as clients, they do NOT respect us in terms of our needs, and they do NOT respect the fact that we are not getting what we are paying for. Seriously, if you want to talk about dignity, respect, trust, relationships and those things - ESPECIALLY after mentioning the words MUTUAL - perhaps you should look at yourself first. WE, the customers, are not the ones taking MILLIONS of rands worth of money and giving absolutely rubbish back.

We know that there is a problem. We know that a resolution is coming (on the 10th). The next step to resolving this mess is refunding your customers. And THAT is something which Afrihost seems unprepared to do (at least to the levels that is required), and THAT is something which your clients is unwilling to accept. We have LONG SINCE moved on past the IPC issues... We want our money back! It's as simple as that.

@Rickster I disagree. This is a public discussion forum. He does not need to PM anybody. I'm not saying a massive argument is the solution, and I don't condone half this behavior, but to tell him to PM so that the matter can quickly be resolved, and then as soon as he PM's, reply with a cancellation notice is not cool. I do not agree with that.

HOWEVER, this does not mean I will not be using Afrihosts services and I want my stuff cancelled. It means I am just not in agreement on the matter.

I really hope Afrihost can make changes and turn this around as I would like to keep using their services.

I think you're making a very simple matter very complicated. If you want a refund and want to cancel your account, you can simply log a ticket with our accounts team and do so. If you sent me a PM, I could move that forward for you. I don't see how this required hours worth of unpleasantness.

Just send a mail to [email protected] and send me the ticket reference and I'll make sure it happens. If that's what you require, I am definitely happy to assist you - it's what I'm here for.

So does this mean he needs to cancel to get a refund, or does it mean he can get a refund without cancelation? If its the latter why did you have a change of heart, or why did you not give me this option?

I sincerely hope this is not a threat of cancelation.

He can request a refund if he's wanting to cancel with immediate effect, that's up to our accounts department. But it's simply logging a ticket and engaging in a process - it could have been solved in a 2 minute PM, really :(

There is a difference between providing feedback and annoying the hell out of someone, you can see how Afrimans tone changes,

If you are fed up with Afrihost then find a better ISP.....oh wait.

And if I ran a business and a costumer was constantly on my case, even when I tried to explain what the problem is and how its being sorted out, I would hell him to fsck off.

This is the same support tickets that some of the forum members have been complaining about that are not being answered?

WOW, just WOW! I come to have a look at this thread and it has gone mad :-)

WTF! They cancelled someone's account because he was expressing dissatisfaction with the service he has received!

In the end the one thing that is FACT is that the service sucks at the moment, i know i know IPC, bla bla...

But it is also FACT that we paying Afrihost for a below par service, this while the network status says all good!

I'm happy to get a reference and follow up. Like I said, I'm here to assist with queries. Just drop me a PM and I'll make sure it gets looked at. From there, it's out of my hands.

On a brighter note, my connection has been fantastic, so whatever you guys did the last time worked.

@Afriman, as per my pm, do not cancel my account.

It's better to discuss this over PM, as it was originally intended. I'm disappointed that so much is being said without proper context, but as I said, I'm always happy to chat over PM. So let's rather do that :)
