Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

I think a lot of people are annoyed. Not just Afriman.

I think Afrihost needs to come up with a solutions that will benefit the client and Afrihost. Cancelling the clients account only really benefits Afrihost in ridding themselves of people expressing dissatisfaction.

There is a difference between providing feedback and annoying the hell out of someone, you can see how Afrimans tone changes,

If you are fed up with Afrihost then find a better ISP.....oh wait.

And if I ran a business and a costumer was constantly on my case, even when I tried to explain what the problem is and how its being sorted out, I would hell him to fsck off.

Its not about the bad service anymore, we all just want to be compensated for the service we received.

I think you're making a very simple matter very complicated. If you want a refund and want to cancel your account, you can simply log a ticket with our accounts team and do so. If you sent me a PM, I could move that forward for you. I don't see how this required hours worth of unpleasantness.

Just send a mail to [email protected] and send me the ticket reference and I'll make sure it happens. If that's what you require, I am definitely happy to assist you - it's what I'm here for.

Your support desk has lost all credibility due to the fact that they take MONTHS to respond to tickets, due to the fact that they DELETE tickets without responding to the, and due to the INADEQUATE METHODS that queries are being handled.

As I said...

I will thus now kindly ask you in public (a second time), to supply me with your postal address and contact details of your legal advisors / department, after which I will now revert to written communications between myself and Afrihost via registered mail. we can then collaborate and determine what will happen in terms of refunds for your appalling service.

AfriMan: Told you you were gonna get hammered :D

I really hope that Jeanres gets his account re-instated.

WOW, just WOW! I come to have a look at this thread and it has gone mad :-)

WTF! They cancelled someone's account because he was expressing dissatisfaction with the service he has received!

In the end the one thing that is FACT is that the service sucks at the moment, i know i know IPC, bla bla...

But it is also FACT that we paying Afrihost for a below par service, this while the network status says all good!

If a consumer continues to sprout anger toward a company and yet continues to use that company why should the company still do business with the consumer. The consumer has many other options to consider and they are more than welcome to change ISP's but that relationship is clearly strained and even I can see the business relationship was over.

I know the IPC capacity is an issue and it is affecting me as well but I dont go on a public forum to abuse the company reps over and over again.

You forget, jeans didn't get the opportunity to consider anything. His account was simply terminated.

It's always about the relationship. When the relationship breaks down, then I don't see how it's in either parties interest. Like I said, i believe we do what's in the client's interest. When someone is clearly frustrated and angry and upset, it seems like it's best to give them an easy way out if they're not willing to accept any other offered solution.

Maybe you disagree?

This is past the IPC capacity. This is about MONEY. Plain and simple. Just like Afrihost expects me to respect them, I expect Afrihost to respect me.

I am not prepared to just throw away R1500 odd for a month and a half worth of crap.

Our address is on our website - just check the contact page. We accept registered email at our offices, or deliveries. Like I said, there's no need formality - we have established channels for these claims and processes - so it's generally accepted best practice to follow channels before going the legal route.

PM me with the reference, I'll make sure you get a quick response from our side.

The relationship breaks down because:

1) The client paid for a service and is not getting what he paid for.

2) The client wants to be compensated for the fact that he has not only paid for the abysmal account, but also paid for a backup account to use in the mean time.

3) Afrihost are not interested in offering compensation to the affected clients.

Of course the relationship will break down, the client is getting shafted and Afrihost are not willing to budge.

All Afrihost needed to do was simply offer the affected clients some sort of discount and NONE of this would have happened.

As mentioned before, the issue is not even the IPC anymore. We all know about the IPC issue and we're ok with that, we can wait it out, but we would like to know that Afrihost will compensate us for the affected period.

After the business relationship had broken down. Im not even involved and I can see it had broken down. Endless angry posts bordering on abuse.

If Im not happy with a product or service I give notice and leave.

Note, you give notice...... NOT wake up and see your accounts are canceled.

The only abuse I have seen is jeanres's account getting unilaterally cancelled. The company reps have been asked questions which they have for the most part avoided answering or have answered unsatisfactorily. If there had been a proper response from the reps instead of continually leading forumites on a merry dance, the matter could have been resolved many, many pages back. They have not handled this situation well. And the evidence of how poorly they have performed is as plain as day in this thread.

The most surprising thing for me, is that up until this mess, Afrihost reps have always done an excellent job.

Is http://www.afrihost.com/site/page/contact_details what you are referring too?

I only see phone numbers, email addresses, and a physical address. The last time I checked, I cannot post a letter to a physical address. Hence for the third time - what is your POSTAL address please.

Then you wonder why your customers react the way they do... This is now the THIRD post, *just* to get a postal address out of Afrihost!!!! Ironic, isn't it.

Nor should you. So log a call or call their accounts department. Afriman cannot assist in that regard like he has stated many times over. Constantly attacking the reps on this thread doesnt help or get us anywhere

We receive a lot of mail at our physical address - you can definitely post to a street address. Last time I checked, it happens all the time. Even registered mail - I promise.

I think you should rather talk about options to make the client happy. Even if it might cost you something (something you have or something you have to purchase)

You states "they're not willing to accept any other offered solution. ". I don't know what you mean by this because up until now you have not provided any form of solution. The only thing you stated was wait till 10th. So saying I am offering you the solution to wait till the 10th and if you not willing to do that then I am going to force you to take "the easy way" in the form of cancellation is a bit odd.

I have in all of this not rooted for any bad behavior. I am the last person enjoying the fact that people are having a go at you and Afrihost. I have however throughout this public conversation rooted for Afrihost to come to the table with a solution that will benefit the client, as you have not been able to provide the correct service due to Telkoms slacking and/or financial commitments. The client hasn't stopped paying. Therefor you cannot get upset if the client is not willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. It has been several months now so I can understand if people arent willing to do that anymore. You should give the client the benefit of the doubt.

Like I said before, I trust you will make the right decision in the end because I have always believe Afrihost is on the right track in terms of Internet in South Africa. In my opinion up until recently you have blown all other ISP's out of the water. Give me a reason to keep believing that.

:)

Again - Guys, this is clearly not what the rest of the forum/thread wants to talk about. A moderator has already posted a warning, and I don't think that getting the thread shut down or getting banned is going to be in anyone's interests. Clearly complaints from forum members are being lodged with MyBB about this, so please either take this offline, or take a breather.
