8Mb/s business uncapped.

For the sake of the rest of your client-base, and so that they can be aware of what NOT to do when engaging Afrihost moving forward, can you highlight the specific clauses in the terms of service / contract you have with your business accounts that jeanres was in material breach of, that warranted cancellation without notice?

I'm sure nobody else wants to experience the same thing (having their business account cancelled) for offering feedback and posing questions in threads like these. So for the benefit of the rest of your customer base, can you point out these specific clauses so that others can be sure not to engage in a similar manner on this forum moving forward? Is there a specific clause that requires all customers to engage positively about your business and services? Is there a specific clause that states that customers cannot make more than one post on a public forum about continued issues?

I'd be curious to see these...

Do not think this exists..

So does this mean he needs to cancel to get a refund, or does it mean he can get a refund without cancelation? If its the latter why did you have a change of heart, or why did you not give me this option?

I sincerely hope this is not a threat of cancelation.
If you get a refund, they will cancel you and that will be your last interaction with Afrihost!

They are prima-Donnas!

They will likely also delay and mess you about with the refund as well, like a child scorned.

I think we've mostly moved past this now.

Is http://www.afrihost.com/site/page/contact_details what you are referring too?

I only see phone numbers, email addresses, and a physical address. The last time I checked, I cannot post a letter to a physical address. Hence for the third time - what is your POSTAL address please.

Then you wonder why your customers react the way they do... This is now the THIRD post, *just* to get a postal address out of Afrihost!!!! Ironic, isn't it.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, we have? I must have missed the post where you clarify what terms a customer is in breach of by posting of their issues on this forum. Can you link me to that post?

Do you not think that once Afrihost begin cancelling accounts without notice and without formal communication as such, that it is in the interests of your customer base to inform them of what terms they are in material breach of based on their actions here?

You guys have made a killing through your advertising on this site, and subsequent support by mybroadband members. You owe it to the community to inform them that their actions on this forum may in fact result in their services being cancelled without notice. And you now (having cancelled someone's account because of their actions on the forum) owe it to the community to inform them of what specific terms they are in material breach of based on certain actions here on the forum. You cannot have your cake and eat it here. You are experiencing issues. People are posting about them. If you believe that your actions in cancelling jeanres' account are above board, then it should be a simple matter of quoting the relevant terms of your contracts for the sake of clarity, so that other customers do not end up being cancelled for posting about their troubles.

If only positive feedback is allowed, then please inform the community of this rule. If one is only allowed to post once, then please inform the community of this. Also please inform the forum owners of the new rules you have self imposed on the forum.

So for the sake of your customers, and to ensure that they do not have their accounts cancelled without notice, please do quote the relevant terms and conditions or clauses of your contracts that allows Afrihost to cancel a customer's account without notice in lieu of posts they have made about relevant, continued, and real problems in a feedback thread.

This matter is not over for those affected. It is not over for those reading. It certainly forms a part of the Afrihost experience, and is certainly relevant to this thread, whether you like it or not. Furthermore, your issues in the South have not been resolved, and clearly many other customers are unhappy. By refusing to disclose how and why a customer's account may be terminated, you place all of them at risk of cancellation without notice by the simple act of posting about their issues. That is not fair on your customers. First you nail them with crap service and an unwillingness to meet them halfway price-wise. Then you continue to take on new clients in these affected areas knowing full-well of the issues there and no firm date for resolution. And you go on to move considerable risk to customers of a business account who post about these issues in the relevant threads.

You're currently making a mockery of customer service, and you're making a mockery of your customers. Not only are there continued issues on the hosting side, but now they're finding their way into your ADSL business. And the moment times get tough you adopt an odd "the customer is a bastard" approach to service. You then refuse to answer direct questions relating to your decisions to cancel customers' accounts.

Are you not seeing the problem here?

You might have, we haven't... We haven't even BEGAN to discuss it... Don't be in such a rush - it's not like we can do any work with these Internet connections you're supplying.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just BTW, but it seems we've finally got it... AfriMan just to enlighten you as you seemingly don't even know the postal address of the company you work for, your postal address is:
P O Box 5116,
Rivonia,
South Africa

Thankfully Afrihost's WHOIS data is up to date, unlike their support team whom still thinks customers are experiencing line problems ;) Giving me incorrect information and the run arround isn't going to help this thing that you keep refering to as mutual trust, and relationships and all of that... If you're truly interested in that it is...

@Afriman, I have now once again re-activated my accounts in the client zone, lets hope that we have now moved past the cancelation and I can continue to be a client.

I would however expect an apology from management.

I'd prefer to be discreet regarding the particulars of what was discussed between myself and the client here - I think that it appropriate.

In broad terms, any business relationship relies on trust and communication. When those break down, it makes sense to review and say "Can we move forward?". As much as a client signs up and would ask themselves whether they want to stay in that relationship, we also need to look at this from our perspective decide if the same holds true. Any client can give us notice within the month and receive service until their cancellation date. So I think it's more than fair if that holds true the other way around, especially if we are prepared to give that client a full refund for the month, and then give them enough notice to ensure they can reasonably find alternative services elsewhere.

I don't expect that anyone would only say good things about us, and no-one should feel that they can't give honest (perhaps occasionally brutal) feedback. But firstly, you need to make your point, and then move on so others can make theirs. Secondly, when feedback is no longer constructive - then it comes back to the relationship and asking the question.

Once I start receiving messages from other clients that they no longer feel safe to post in the feedback thread, and complain that this is becoming unpleasant for them, then clearly it's something that must be addressed. If the other party is not willing to compromise or work with us, then clearly we've reached a stage where we need to part ways so that they can pursue a more suitable service elsewhere and we can continue to focus on those clients who want to be engaged and who want to find solutions or meaningful information.

So you're saying that jeanres caused other clients to not want to post in the feedback thread?

:erm:
